  14.      BeerWare originated two years ago on the lofty premise that
  15.      users would much rather send us beer for our programs than
  16.      money.
  17.  
  18.      Boy were we stupid.
  19.  
  20.      It seems that users are far more protective of their beer
  21.      than their wallets.  We didn't get a single drop of the
  22.      precious stuff, although we got plenty of excuses.

  24.      So, rather than be selfish about it, we simply decided to
  25.      redefine the BeerWare concept...so, without further ado,
  26.      here it is:

  29.      Beerware is a lot like ShareWare, only different.  In
  30.      order to register your BeerWare program, just kick back and
  31.      drink a cold beer in honor of the programmers.  As the cool
  32.      suds refresh your parched throat, think to yourself, "Gee,
  33.      this is really great" (Note:  Do not do this if you are
  34.      drinking Keystone beer, as this may be viewed as encouraging
  35.      a stupid advertising campaign.)

  38.      Next, fill out a postcard and tell us how much you really
  39.      enjoyed the beer.  Then, mail it to us, using the address
  40.      provided in the program documentation.  Your Registration
  41.      keycode will arrive at your door shortly.

  43.      Or, if you can't seem to find one of those 19-Cent Postcard
  44.      stamps, give us a call, courtesy of The Razor's Edge BBS at
  45.      (617) 786-8282.  Just leave a message to us in the
  46.      IguanaSoft Conference, and we'll have a keycode for you
  47.      within 24 hours.

  49.      If you haven't figured it out yet, this all means that
  50.      registration is free.  All we require is that you get in
  51.      touch with us, congratulate us, worship the ground we walk
  52.      on, etc.  Nothing too big.
