- How to use Falcon 3.0 using Netware Lite with more than two systems.
- You need the WSGEN disk from Novell Netware 3.11 (Netware 2.11 may work
- but I have not tested it) to create the file IPX.COM for your network card.
- WSGEN will ask you the type network card you have and the selection of the
- I/O address, interrupt and memory address (this will be card dependent).
- After youhave created the IPX.COM file, copy it and NETX.COM to your hard
- drive. If the WSGEN disk does not have the NETX.COM (for DOS Any DOS VER.)
- file you can use NET4 or NET3. Using Net3 (for DOS 3.X) or NET4
- (for DOS 4.X) you must configure SETVER.EXE to report to the program that
- the proper DOS version is being used. After configuring SETVER you must
- include it in your CONFIG.SYS file as a device driver when running Falcon.
- Only the system used as the Caller (Squadron Leader) needs to load these
- files. When loading the file NETX.COM it will seem to have locked up the
- system, just wait it is looking for a dedicated server and should time out
- after about 40 seconds with no server found (A dedicated SERVER IS NOT
- REQUIRED!). The Caller (Squadron Leader) system when in COMMS will receive
- question marks (?) for the other Answer systems wanting to play, just select
- each one and wait for them to respond then exit the selection menu. When in
- multi-player allied make sure to add enough planes for the number of systems
- playing. When using the multi-player allied mission the Squadron Leader must
- pass each way point for the wingman way point to change. I have used this
- setup with six systems its awesome!!.
- We have found that the Israel Theater is unreliable in the network and
- comm mode. I don't know why but it will frequently hang resulting in all
- systems to power down and start over. Below is a list of the hardware and
- configurations for the systems that I use.

- Also the Network and COMM created Squadrons Can be saved and added for
- selection by Falcon. The file names are SQUAD6.* there are 6 files.
- Falcon will only bring up Squadron files 0-5 using the file names SQUAD0.*,
- SQUAD1.* etc. (I think this was an over look by the programmers). If you know
- how many squadrons you have created (so you don't over write them) you can add
- the network or comm Squadrons. All created and saved Falcon squadrons will
- have 6 files with the names SQUAD?.CAM, SQUAD?.MIS, SQUAD?1.MTV, SQUAD?.ORG,
- SQUAD?.SQU, SQUAD?.WAR (the ? mark indicates squadron number) you can add the
- network or comm Squadrons to the Falcon Selection by renaming the SQUAD6.*
- (Network or Comm) files to over write one of the existing squadrons 0-5 that
- have only one squadron file name attached to it. The added network/comm
- squadron must be after the next squadron with 6 files attached to it.
