Transcription: I was very interested in mathematics when I was a student and even though eventually I ended up in a branch of the earth sciences, in the environmental sciences, I couldn't have got as far as I did without my knowledge of mathematics. It's absolutely fundamental in almost every branch of science and even in the environmental sciences.
