Once you have obtained your wings, you will proceed to an Operational Training Unit (OTU) for instruction on the aircraft and in the role you have been awarded. Finally, you will proceed to an Operational unit where you will fly missions in the role you have been trained for.Air Force pilots fly a range of aircraft to carry out its many domestic and international roles, such as a the new Cormorant helicopter on search and rescue missions, the CF-18 supersonic tactical fighter jet, the Aurora maritime patrol aircraft and many others.
