There are a few ways you can begin your application to the Canadian Forces. You can print an application form from this CD and take it to your nearest Recruiting Centre (see Contact Us for locations across Canada). You can call us to speak to a Recruiter near you by calling 1-800-856-8488. For information on the whole process you can visit our website at: www.recruiting.forces.gc.ca and search under How to Join. In addition to the common selection process (see our website) Pilot applicants will attend the Aircrew Selection Centre located at 8 Wing in Trenton, Ontario. Here you will be given a series of tests to determine your aptitude to become a Canadian Forces Pilot. Also, you will be given the chance to fly a single engine light aircraft in a moving simulator to determine if you have an aptitude for flight training in the military.Successful applicants go on to the Defence, Research and Development Canada in Toronto where they undergo medical tests. The total process usually lasts 4-5 days. Once complete, the application is ready for presentation to a final selection board. Upon completion of processing, your name will be added to a competitive merit list, and if a vacancy is available, you may be selected for enrolment. Due to the competitiveness of the merit list, it might be a considerable amount of time before a vacancy becomes available to you. If you are selected for enrolment you will be given a Conditional Offer of Enrolment letter offering you employment. Upon your acceptance of the offer we will proudly welcome you as a member of our team at a formal enrolment ceremony.Interested in a career as a pilot in the Canadian Forces?
