  37. Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software
  38. before buying it. If you try a Shareware program and continue
  39. using it, you are expected to register. Individual programs
  40. differ on details -- some request registration while others
  41. require it, some specify a maximum trial period. With
  42. registration, you get anything from the simple right to continue
  43. using the software to an updated program with printed manual.

  46. and the copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific
  47. exceptions as stated below. Shareware authors are accomplished
  48. programmers, just like commercial authors, and the programs are
  49. of comparable quality. (In both cases, there are good programs
  50. and bad ones!) The main difference is in the method of
  51. distribution. The author specifically grants the right to copy
  52. and distribute the software, either to all and sundry or to a
  53. specific group. For example, some authors require written
  54. permission before a commercial disk vendor may copy their
  55. Shareware.

  58. should find software that suits your needs and pocketbook,
  59. whether it's commercial or Shareware. The Shareware system makes

  91. being used at one location while it's being used at another.

  96. copies of Poker within 30 days of first use or their license
  97. is withdrawn.  Site-License arrangements may be made by con-
  98. tacting James Tolliver.

  100. Anyone distributing Poker for any kind of remuneration must
  101. first contact James Tolliver at the address shown in the invoice.txt
  102. or the README.EXE files included with this document.
  103. This authorization will be automatically granted to distributors
  104. recognized by the (ASP) as adhering to its guidelines for
  105. shareware distributors, and such distributors may begin offering
  106. Poker immediately (However James Tolliver must still be advised so
  107. that the distributor can be kept up-to-date with the latest
  108. version of Poker.).

  111. friends for evaluation.  Please encourage them to register their
  112. copy if they find that they can use it.  All registered users
  113. may receive a copy of the latest version of the Poker
