NECROBIUS
Outraged at being denied participation in his own plans to create a
"living", sentient planet, Professor Necrobius destroys himself along
with all records of his work. A determined government agency, their
motives strictly top seccret, salvage his brain from the ashes and
electronically animate it. Knowing that only top qualifactions will
suffice, agents assign you to interface with Necrobius' restored
conscience as an immaterial "pulse probe" to retrieve any surviving
memories of the deceased professor's work. The mission's directives
are kept disturbingly vague. Moreover, Necrobius may still exist as a
bitter, disembodied will within the resurrected brain, posing a deadly
threat to your misson...
Welcome to the Necrobius Demo!
Necrobius is a journey through the conscious and subconscious of another
human being. The brain works in mysterious ways, so don't expect that
everything will necessarily make sense, and as with anything (or anyone),
expect the unexpected.
Navigation through Necrobius involves familiarizing yourself with only
the four key areas outlined in the software itself (select "Navigation
Expl" in the opening menu). Clicking anywhere in these four regions will
move you in the direction indicated.
A note about cursors: Necrobius displays cursors in the areas that
navigate you around. Objects on the screen can be clicked and explored
regardless of the cursor you see when you move your mouse over them.
Never be afraid to take the chance.
You are traversing the life of Necrobius. Memories from his past and
things relevant to his life will abound. At times it may seem like things
aren't following any chronological order. As with the brain, however,
there may be subtle logic to seeminglyl random occurrences. You may have
to look around a little to find clues that will help you move on.
