  3. Here are four new Doom WADS for this month. As always, just copy these 
  4. files into your Doom directory. 
  5.  
  6. All of these files can be found off of the \DOOM directory on our CD.
  7. Here are the descriptions for each WAD in the WAD creator's own words.

  9. ETBASE.WAD - You've just entered the base. It's going to be long and hard 
  10. to complete your mission. Finish the brains of the organization. You don't 
  11. know how long it will take, but you'll sure wreak havoc on your way through.
  12.  
  13. GOGOMA.WAD - THE STORY: So you got fired last month. The Employment 
  14. Commission turned down your claim. Your ex-boss is telling everyone in the 
  15. industry that you're an impossible employee. You'll never get hired. 
  16. You drink yourself into oblivion and wake up outside your old place 
  17. of employment. My God! What did you do while you were drunk this 
  18. time? You've got a couple policemen as hostages and the street is filled 
  19. with heavily armed officers bent on your destruction. They open fire, you 
  20. turn towards the street and return fire with your Glock 19. You grab a 
  21. shotgun from a dead cop and look up to see a SWAT team moving towards 
  22. you.

  24. Your hostages are shooting at you too! What a lousy day! What a 
  25. lousy year! But you'll get your boss yet! Mowing down the police 
  26. with your shotgun, you grab one of their MAC 10's and head across 
  27. the street where you know some of your ex-coworkers always grab lunch. 
  28. The massacre has begun. . .

  30. DM2HR.WAD - Prepare for your worst nightmare, it has been mine for the 
  31. last 6 weeks. I have played this wad through repeatedly and I can get 
  32. through it so can my beta tester Greg, so save often.

  34. DM2SDR.WAD - This wad was designed for a DeathMatch level. The level had 
  35. been tested before an EXIT was added.

  37. A few folks have written and asked "once we copy them into our Doom 
  38. directory, how do you load 'em?". Well, this can be pretty arbitrary 
  39. depending what each WAD's author created. There's always a TXT file 
  40. for you to read, and some even include a batch file for loading 
  41. the WAD. If you're left clueless, the standard procedure is to type: 
  42. doomx -file wadname.wad
  43. where doomx = your Doom executable command, either DOOM or DOOM2 
  44. where -file = would appear just as it is 
  45. where wadname.wad = is the name of the WAD file you wish to load
  46.  
  47. i.e. If the game is Doom 2 and the WAD name 
  48. is SPIDER4.WAD, you'd type:  
  49. DOOM2 -FILE SPIDERS4.WAD.

  51. This doesn't always work, they're just general guidelines. As with all 
  52. WADS, updates, add-ons or patches make sure your original files are 
  53. backed up. ^BPC Gamer^b will not accept any responsibility for problems
