  3. The following instructions are for the THQ, Inland Productions PC
  4. version of Bass Masters Classic Tournament Edition fishing.
  5.  
  6. DEMO VERSION - multiplayer and other capabilities only available
  7.                in the retail version
  8.  
  9. HARDWARE ACCELERATION NOTE - This version is optimized to run best
  10. with a video card/accelerator that contains the 3dfx Voodoo Chipset.
  11. All other Direct3D compatible video cards will be fully supported
  12. in the retail version.
  13.  
  14. IMPORTANT!!!
  15. This game must be installed by the directions listed below. If
  16. Autoplay is disabled on the Win95 machine trying to install
  17. the game, go to MY COMPUTER and double click on the CD-ROM
  18. drive which has the install disk. Otherwise, from Windows Explorer,
  19. click on the BMC.EXE icon.
  20.  
  21. Win 95 NOTE: While playing this game, all other Windows programs must 
  22. be completely closed down, or errors in the game can occur. It also should
  23. be noted that the game CD must be inserted in the drive the game was
  24. installed from in order to hear the game music or play the game's video
  25. segments. If another music or video CD is inserted into the CD drive
  26. while Bass Masters Classic TE is playing, the game will not operate
  27. or respond correctly.

  29. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

  31. -Pentium 133 or better
  32. -16 MG of RAM
  33. -35 MG of hard drive space
  34. -DirectX 5.0 (included with install program)
  35. -for hardware acceleration, a Direct3D compatible video card
  36.  or adapter with 4 MG of VRAM

  38. INSTALL:
  39.  
  40. The game installs with Autoplay on Win95. Simply insert the
  41. game CD into your CD-ROM drive and wait for a window to open
  42. prompting for installation. DIRECTX Version 5.0 or greater is 
  43. required to run the game. You can install DIRECTX 5.0 from 
  44. the setup program if needed.

  46. RUNNING THE GAME:
  47. Click on the Bass Masters Classic Icon that will be in the program
  48. group created by the Setup Program. Once in the main menu, hit
  49. the "Single" button to see the choices of single player games.
  50. The Practice Button will lead you through the menu to fish on 
  51. a practice lake.

  53. Follow the instructions in the menus to get set up for fishing.
  54. Click on the Question Mark Button that appears in the bottom
  55. left corner of every menu screen to call up the help file.
  56. When you're ready, the game will automatically go to the Lake
  57. Map, where you'll pick your initial fishing spot.

  59. Once you start fishing, the following instructions apply:

  61. Keyboard Commands:
  62.  
  63. UP ARROW    - powers the trolling motor forward
  64. DOWN ARROW  - powers the trolling motor in reverse
  65. LEFT ARROW  - turns the trolling motor left
  66. RIGHT ARROW - turns the trolling motor right
  67. SHIFT KEY   - gives greater acceleration to the troll motor
  68. V KEY       - changes the camera position around the boat
  69. PLUS KEY    - tightens drag
  70. MINUS KEY   - loosens drag
  71. U KEY       - goes to Underwater Mode
  72. S KEY       - stops the boat (if trolling)
  73. W KEY       - Toggles Lake Conditions Window
  74. C KEY       - Cut the line during a fish fight
  75. 1-7 KEYS    - switch between the current fishing rod/lure being used

  79. The game is centered around Tournament fishing where time is critical, 
  80. so seven rods are fully set up with line, reel and lure before 
  81. fishing (you can use the defaults). This saves time by not having to 
  82. re-tie lures while on the lake.

  84. General Fishing Instructions:
  85.  
  86. To cast, bring out the casting target by hitting the TARGET button or
  87. clicking the right mouse button. Move the target to the spot you
  88. want to cast to and set the target by hitting the left mouse button.
  89. Hit the CAST button to start the cast. When the cast is done, hit the
  90. left mouse button to start reeling. When reeling, if a fish strikes your
  91. lure, you must Set the Hook by quickly pulling back the mouse. If you set
  92. the hook in time, you are in a fish fight. When fighting a fish,
  93. moving the mouse up and down will have the effect of raising or lowering
  94. the fishing pole and putting more or less pressure on the fish and the
  95. line. Moving the mouse up and down with the right mouse button down will
  96. tighten or loosen the drag.

  98. To get an underwater view, press U after casting and watch your lure travel
  99. through the water from the initial reeling, all the way through the fish
  100. fight. Pressing the U-key again will bring you back above water at any time.

  102. Control Panel Buttons:

  104. QUIT        - exits the game (after prompting) to the main menu
  105. TARGET      - brings out the casting target
  106. CAST        - if the casting
  107. CAST TYPE   - change the method of casting being used
  108. GEAR        - go back to the menus to change the setup of one of 
  109.               the 7 fishing rods
  110. LURE BUTTON - allows you to cycle through your seven fishing rods
  111.               and examine the setup of each
  112. LIVEWELL    - view or release any fish which are in the livewell
  113. LAKEMAP     - bring up the map of the lake including your current
  114.               position, and allow you to change spots or go back to
  115.               the pier and quit for the day
  116. TIPS        - video tips from Roland Martin (to play the tips, the
  117.               install CD must be in the origional install drive)

  119. SAVE        - allows you to save your game in progress
  120.               (NOT IN DEMO VERSION)
