CONCEPTS
********************************************************************************
***Anchor/Recall
'Teleport' is in no way connected to the Recall spell.
You can use the spell just like you did before.
The spell is more uh... 'compatible' with Daggerfall. <g>
It should be possible to Recall from a dungeon to inside a building.
***Data Files
Data files are files that hold a collection of stores.
***Stores
Stores contain the position data (N, E, Altitude) of one of Daggerfall's
savegames. The description that you type should remind you of what this position
is. (i.e. Odd Blades in Daggerfall City). This position can be written to other
savegames with the following limitations:
***Limitations
You cannot travel from inside a dungeon/building to any location outside of
that dungeon/building.
You cannot travel from any location to inside a dungeon/building.
------------
Workaround
------------
When you wish to go somewhere. Save the game. Load teleport and store your
current position if you wish to return. Then copy the stored position of your
CURRENT dungeon entrance into your savegame and reload it in Daggerfall. Exit
the dungeon and save the game. Copy the stored position where you wish to go to
into this savegame and reload it in Daggerfall. Enter whatever building/dungeon
that was your destination.
Remember DO NOT try to teleport back inside of a building. Choose a place IN
FRONT OF the building you wish to go!

STORES
********************************************************************************
Copy Store-----------------------------------------------------------------[F10]
This command copies the location data from one store to another
Enter/Edit Store------------------------------------------------------[Shift+F8]
This command allows you to enter exact N, E, and Altitude coordinates in a
store position.
Move Character--------------------------------------------------------[Shift+F8]
This command allows you to move a stored position in a certain direction.
The keypad acts as your compass: 7-NW 8-N 9-NE - Up
4-W 6-E + Down
1-SW 2-S 3-SE
You are then asked how many steps/stories you want to move.
(Steps have been 'calibrated' by walking at speed 50, stories at the
buildings in Daggerfall/Daggerfall ;)
The values that you enter are NOT checked in any way - if you teleport
yourself into a stationary orbit, your game may crash. <g>
This feature has been designed to go short distances:
through doors and walls, in/out of cages - be creative ;)
Rename Store-------------------------------------------------------------[Enter]
This command allows you to rename your stored positions
Delete Store---------------------------------------------------------[Backspace]
This command deletes a store location.
Swap 2 Store Positions-----------------------------------------------[Shift+F10]
This command swaps the location data between two stores

DATA FILES
********************************************************************************
List Data Files (dir)-------------------------------------------------------[F9]
This command displays all available data files located in the \Dagger
directory.
Access Existing Data File-------------------------------------------[F7] or [F8]
Type in the name of a file to be opened.
Create Data File----------------------------------------------------[F7] or [F8]
Type in a unique name and it will prompt you to create a new data file.
Close Data File-----------------------------------------------------[F7] or [F8]
If you are working with 2 files and want to go back to working with one file,
press Delete until the input field is cleared. This file will be closed.
Rename Data File---------------------------------------------------------SPECIAL
Using Dos or Windows, rename the file. In Teleport, press [F7] OR [F8] and
type in the new name you used.
Display Data----------------------------------------------------------[Shift+F7]
This command displays the North, East and Altitude coordinates of your stores

COMMAND LINE PARAMETERS
**********************************************************************************
There is only one command line parameter, the name of another config file.
Syntax
TELEPORT (yourfilename).cfg
Note: The extension ".CFG" is not optional. You must use it.
If two people are playing Daggerfall on the same computer or if you are running
two characters, you can create batch files or Windows PIF's or Shortcuts with
this parameter to have Teleport recognize the right character and load the
correct data file(s) on startup.
Note: Although TELEPORT.EXE can access different config files, it will not
CREATE a config file other than TELEPORT.CFG. You must copy TELEPORT.CFG to
another filename first in order to use this feature.

TROUBLESHOOTING
********************************************************************************
1) If you are using Windows 95 and have Write Behind Caching Enabled for your
disk drive(s), the following can happen:
You save a game in Daggerfall, press Shift-TAB to access Teleport and
immediately order Teleport to write a new position to the savegame while
Daggerfall (in the background) is still _writing_ the savegame.
If Teleport aborts the action with an error message, go back to Daggerfall
and save the game again. It's a good idea to wait until each program is
finished writing before you tell the other one to access the savegame.
2) Write Behind Caching tends to cause problems with Daggerfall in general.
Turning it off can sometimes make Daggerfall run more stable or avoid
savegame corruption.
3) Wrong terrain type.
If you save your game somewhere in the wilderness and Teleport into a city,
the terrain you are standing on is still 'rough'.
Simply save and load the game again. This will fix it.
4) If Teleport refuses to access a savegame, then this is because it is not sure
if it can do so _safely_.
Try to save the game again with Daggerfall and see if that fixes the problem.
5) If you are running Teleport on Win95, you can get an error message
"Savegame SAVEx\ is empty."
This happens if Daggerfall is still writing/loading the savegame, so that
other programs are not allowed to access it.
Wait until it is finished and try again.
6) There are NO guarantees.
If Teleport breaks in two halves, you own both halves. <g>
I have tried to make sure that your savegames do not get corrupted by
Teleport. It would rather abort an action before writing to an 'unsure'
position. Since I cannot foresee further Daggerfall patches,
(.179 being the latest) I can only _hope_ that it works with them.

Version History
********************************************************************************
v1.7 Updated v1.6 to work with savegames that changed after
accepting quests and other events.
v1.8 -Move Character feature added
-Teleport will write a message into your history file
"You will gain x (+End bonus) hit points per level."
I forgot the exact number while running different characters... <g>
v1.9 -Screen refresh is now about 4 times as fast as in v1.8.
-Sometimes, v1.8 would not (successfully) write a position to a
savegame. This should work a lot (at least :) more reliable in v1.9.
