  9. This contains the latest information about the patch for  
  10. American Civil War from Interactive Magic. If you have additional 
  11. problems or questions, contact Interactive Magic customer support 
  12. as described in the game manual.

  15. This patch fixes some of the problems that occurs on 8 meg machines, and 
  16. on some machines that are running the game in 16 bit high color.

  19. GAME EDITOR
  20.  
  21. There is a game editor on the CD in the editor directory. You can run the 
  22. editor by clicking on the editor.exe in either WIN 3.1 or WIN95.  The editor 
  23. will allow you to change almost every aspect of the ACW game, from leaders'
  24. stats to cities conquered, to the expertise level of your troops.  Just load up 
  25. one of  your saved games and make the changes. WARNING if you change the 
  26. date, when you load the saved game, it will go through the setup screen again, for
  27. choosing sides and other options, it will as if you started up a brand new game, 
  28. but your changes will be included. You will be able to customize the computer's
  29. beginning troops, and other stats and information.

  32. HEX GRID

  34. On 8 meg machines the hex grid will load up very slowly and it will slow down the 
  35. turns  a lot as well. It is best to unload the hex grid before executing a turn, to get
  36. the best speed from the game.
