Installation Notes for the Flight Unlimited Beta Patch
This patch contains following bug fixes and enhancements:
1. New code for joystick hat calibration which should fix the spinning
cockpit and views caused by improper hat calibration with Thrustmaster
Wingman joysticks.
2. New code for joystick calibration which should fix joystick non-detection.
We know that this patch will not fix joystick miscalibration. We are still
working on this problem and will release a new version of this patch
when we have a fix for this problem.
3. New code which traps and avoids the divide overflow error caused by
old mouse drivers.
4. There are fixes for 2 physics bugs. The first fixes a problem that
prevented inverted spins from being correctly modeled in certain
circumstances. The second caused the altimeter to jump a couple
hundred feet at certain altitudes.
5. There are two fixes to the video code. The first caused Flight to
not recognize certain video cards as being VESA 2.0 compliant.
The second caused the palette from being initialized correctly on
certain video cards.
6. Total energy compensation is now modeled correctly in the Grob's
variometer.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Copy the included file patch.exe to the flight directory on your hard
drive and execute it by typing "patch" (minus the quotes of course) then
press enter. This will unpack the patch files. Next type GO and then
press enter to start the patch process. When you are asked if it is ok
to overwrite any files answer yes.
The patch should now be installed and you can start Flight as you normally
do and the new code should be used.
OPERATION NOTES
If you have a Thrustmaster or Wingman Extreme joystick you will be asked
to move your joystick hat to all 4 corners, please move the hat slowly and
make sure to move it all the way to the corners. CH joysticks use a
different method of sending hat data and will calibrate automatically.
