  1. APCiHERETIC (pronounced "ay-pee-see-eye Heretic") is a full front-end for 
  2. Raven Software's Heretic.
  3.  
  4. APCiHERETIC supports the following Heretic gaming modes: 
  5.  
  6.     1 - MultiPlayer Modem Heretic via the APCi MultiPlayer Game Server. 
  7.         A special chat utility enables players to chat and to change
  8.         WAD files and settings before and between games. 
  9.     2 - Two-player modem Heretic including chat support. 
  10.     3 - Two-player serial link Heretic including chat support. 
  11.     4 - MultiPlayer Heretic including chat support.
  12.     5 - MultiPlayer IPX Heretic in VGC mode via the APCiMPGS.  This
  13.         mode allows local IPX players to play with dialed-in players via
  14.         the APCi MultiPlayer Game Server.

  16. APCiHERETIC allows you to keep your Heretic add-in WAD files sorted into
  17. separate directories.  It also allows you to create APCi WAD description
  18. files.

  20. ==========   Before attempting to play Heretic using APCiHERETIC, please read
  21. IMPORTANT!   the online help.  It might take you a whole twenty minutes.  Many
  22. ==========   users have wasted hours of long distance time trying to play
  23.              multiplayer Heretic when just five minutes in the help system
  24.              would have done just as well.  If you still have problems, read
  25.              the file named LOCKUPS!.WHY that is included with this archive.

  27. APCiHERETIC is merely client software.  It is NOT the software that provides 
  28. support for multiplayer modem Heretic.  Support is provided by the APCi 
  29. MultiPlayer Game Server.  For additional information regarding the APCiMPGS,
  30. please call the APCi BBS at (618) 632-7664.
