  1. THE OCTOBER PATCH LIST
  2.  
  3. Here are the game patches that appear in Tom McDonald's Extended Play 
  4. column for October. 
  5.

  7.   Installation Note: To install these patches, enter the \PATCHES     
  8.   subdirectory on our demo disc. You'll need to copy each patch into  
  9.   each games appropriate directory on your hard drive. You'll need    
  10.   to have a version of PKUNZIP to unzip most of these patches.

  13. Baseball for Windows (SCHEDULE.S54): Corrects the 1954 schedule (the
  14. Baltimore and Boston schedules were reversed).
  15.  
  16. Colonization for Windows (COL95.ZIP): Fixes some Win95 support and 
  17. corrects general Windows bugs as well.
  18.  
  19. Fleet Defender Gold (FDGVID.ZIP): Patch for users who have been 
  20. experiencing the "unable to open d:\fleet.avi" errors in Windows
  21. normally caused by an older version of Video for Windows being
  22. present on the system.

  24. Klik & Play v.1.1 (KNPUSLLY.ZIP): Adds new speed-independent mode, 
  25. deletes TEMP files, provides some new keystrokes and game-building
  26. features, fixes numerous crashes, gliches, "out of memory" errors,
  27. and screen garbage.
  28.  
  29. Mad Dog Macree 2 (MADDOGB.EXE): Fixes problems with the Sound Blaster 16.
  30. A seperate patch (MADDOG.EXE) addresses sound problems with other cards.
  31.  
  32. Omar Sharif Bridge (OMARDOS.ZIP): Corrects the error message "speech
  33. driver not found" and allows Sound Blaster to use IRQ 5.
  34.  
  35. Tigers on the Prowl v.1.24 (TOP_124.ZIP): Fixes bugs that cropped up with
  36. patch v.1.23.

  38. Warcraft v.1.21 (WARCR121.EXE): Offers improved sound card support,
  39. increased 2-player game speed and numerous fixes, as well as the WAR_EDIT
  40. Unit Editor v.1.5, and a complete list of cheat codes.

  43. As with all these patches, make sure you have your original files backed up 
  44. in case you need to reinstall. PC Gamer will not accept any responsibility
