The Rubicon: A single level mission for DESCENT.
Created by Brian McMahon (bmcmahon@cts.com)
in San Diego, California (home of the sick skinny dog!)
After many complete failures at creating a full level with DEVIL, this
level is the first I consider clean enough to put out. It is the result
of over 40 hours (who am I kidding? over 60 hours!) tinkering and learning
with an impressive but rather unintuitive level editor. Anyway, this is a
fairly large level with a lot of chances to get in and out on one life.
The array of available weapons is limited, but you'll find many of the more
powerful missiles in strategic locations through out the level. If you are
really good you may find that there are plenty weapons (lasers, cannons,
etc.) to get the job done, maybe too many...
A few hints:
1) Follow the GREEN path to the exit, and be sure it is clear before
you blow the reactor! I usually make it out with only 5-15 seconds,
because it's easy to get disorientated.
2) In the lava node take care exiting, and watch your back!
3) Traverse as many shafts between nodes as possible in the beginning
before mixing it up with the bad boys. Load heavy!
If you think this level sucks then flame me else enjoy!
