  3. This is a DELPHINE SOFTWARE game.

  10. MANUAL INSTALLATION
  11.  
  12. MUST HAVE 12mb FREE IN HARD DRIVE TO INSTALL.
  13.  
  14. Put CD into CDROM-Drive and type INSTALL at dos prompt at CDROM-Drive.
  15.  
  16. To configure for sound, type SETSOUND at hard-drive promt after game has 
  17. installed on hard drive.
  18.  
  19. CD must be in CDROM-Drive to play game.
  20.  
  21. WARNING :       The destination directory must be a single directory like
  22.         F2B or DEMO --NOT-- GAME\F2B or DEMO\F2B.

  26. STARTING THE GAME:
  27.  
  28. To start the game, type F2B from the installation directory you just created 
  29. on your hard drive.
  30.  
  31. * If you have Saved Games, you will not see the starting Cinematic Scene.
  32. ** If you want to see it, delete Saved Games (*.SAV) or move them to another 
  33. directory.

  182. Two mouse modes exist--> ICON Mode and PRO Mode

  184. During the game you can switch at any time between the two modes by pressing 
  185. the G key

  190. In general, right mouse button is used to return to gameplay

  192. In ICON Mode, you can drag icon by pressing Left-Shift and Left mouse button

  194. Left-Alt + Left mouse button on icon: Reduce icon size

  196. To read a message or view an object in inventory, left click on the 
  197. wheel/hands icon

  199. During gameplay right mouse button (not on an icon) is used to take your gun 
  200. out and fire. Click left mouse button and you can turn left or right.

  206. Left button :   Walk if you where standing up
  207.         Operate lever, cupboard/cabinet, teleporter if you double 
  208.         click with gun in.
  209.         Fire if you are in gun out mode (reload if no munition left)

  214. If you are in gun out mode, to start to run quickly, you can press the 
  215. right mouse button to get your gun in and then press the left key 
  216. without releasing the right button.

  218. If you are in run mode you can take your gun out quickly by releasing the 
  219. left mouse button before the right one.

  225. JOYSTICK:

  227. Go to joystick menu in main menu to calibrate joystick before activating
  228. joystick.

  230. Press Ctrl J to Disactivate joystick during game.

  232. When you restart game, you need to recalibrate joystick before activating it.

  234. Button 1:       Like keyboard space key or 
  235.         Fire if gun out (reload if no munition left).
  236. Button 2:       Gun out / gun in
  237. Button 3:       Like keyboard space key
  238. Button 4:       Like keyboard enter key

  240. If you move joystick left or right, character turns Left/Right.
  241.  
  242. Little toward:          Ralk, or small walk if gun out.
  243. Far toward:             Run
  244. Little backward:        Small walk backward
  245. Far backward:           Crouch

  247. If you have a Thrustmaster joystick, or Gravis Phoenix, or similar one, you
  248. can program the extra buttons of your joystick as you like to emulate
  249. keyboard keys.

  253. MINIMUM CONFIGURATION FOR ACCEPTABLE PERFORMANCES:

  255. - 486DX2-66 with 8 Mb RAM and 12 Mb free on disk
  256. - double speed CD-ROM drive (for cinematic scenes)
  257. - local bus video
  258. - install SMARTDRV with a size of 64 Kb
  259.

  262. BEST CONFIGURATION:

  264. - pentium 133 with 8 Mb RAM and 12 Mb free on disk
  265. - quad speed CD-ROM drive
  266. - local bus video with true 32 bits SVGA card
  267. - 16 bits sound card with wave instrument synthesis
  268. - install SMARTDRV with a size of 256 Kb or more

  273. MEMORY PROBLEMS:
  274.  
  275. If you have an out of memory error try to run VIRT_F2B, it's a little slower 
  276. and you need 8 Mb free on your hard disk for virtual memory, but you won't 
  277. have any more memory error.

  279. INST_FUL copy all the files and you won't need to have the DEMO cdrom in 
  280. drive to play the game. Space necessary on hard disk drive : 45 Mb.
  281.  
  282. If you have no sound card, you can delete the following directory from
  283. your hard disk (if you need space) :
  284.  
  285.     DATA\SOUND\*.*
  286.     DATA\DRIVERS\*.*
  287.     
  288. If you delete these sound files, the minimum demo will take less 
  289. than 4 Mb on your hard disk drive.

  294. OTHER PROBLEMS:
  295.  
  296. If you hear no sound :
  297.  
  298. - run SETSOUND
  299. - activate the sounds by pressing Ctrl S during the PLAY MODE.
  300.  
  301. If you cannot turn left or right with joystick :
  302.  
  303. - desactivate mouse if you are in icon mode or change to pro mode to
  304.   continue playing with joystick.
  305.  
  306. - In the file config.sys the line FILES must be at least 40.
