  7. Q: Why won't the game run with my ___ type of video card?
  8. A: THPS3 PC was designed to run using DirectX 8.1. This means that cards that do not 
  9. have a DirectX 8.1 driver (i.e. 3DFX and Intel based cards) are not supported. We are 
  10. investigating some workarounds for users of these cards, but at this time we can not 
  11. guarantee future support.

  14. Q: I have a DX 8.1 card, but the graphics are choppy.
  15. A: If you own a card that IS supported, please make sure that you have the latest drivers 
  16. installed. Also, make sure that anti-aliasing is turned off in your display settings. If you 
  17. are using a Kyro based video card and are experiencing problems some people have 
  18. found success using the latest PowerVR  drivers.

  21. Q: I can't connect to a multiplayer game. I have a PPOE internet connection.
  22. A: We are aware of this high priority issue, but have not narrowed down the problem yet.

  25. Q: My controller doesn't work after I choose it in the options menu.
  26. A: Make sure that you are going into "Options" and changing your controls from 
  27. keyboard to joystick. Also, if your joystick has a button to switch to analog, make sure 
  28. you try both settings to see which works best. Some of the joysticks that we've tested use 
  29. an analog configuration for the D-pad, so try various setting to see what works best for 
  30. you.

  33. Q: My screen goes black after starting the game.
  34. A: Make sure you are running the correct drivers for your monitor. The default monitor 
  35. drivers provided by Windows may not correctly report refresh rates to DirectX. You can 
  36. check your monitor manufactureÆs website for the current drivers. You can also run the
  37. setup utility and check the "60Hz Refresh" box to play using the default monitor refresh
  38. rate.

  41. Q: I can't get the game to recgnoize my gamepad. What should I do?
  42. A: Make sure you've installed the drivers for your gamepad. If the gamepad works correctly
  43. in Windows, then chances are a profile isn't set up for your gamepad. Follow these steps to 
  44. create a profile in the Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 setup utility:

  46.     1) Click on the "Controllers" tab. 
  47.     2) Click on the "Device" drop down menu and select your gamepad.
  48.     3) Click the "New" button under the "Profile" area.
  49.     4) Name your new profile.
  50.     5) Configure your gamepad buttons for Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3.
  51.     6) Run the game and go to "Options"
  52.         7) Select "Controller Config"
  53.     8) Select "Primary Controller" and select your gamepad.
