  22. Matrox PowerDesk software includes a display driver and display 
  23. utilities. With this software, you can take full advantage of your 
  24. Matrox graphics hardware and you can access additional Matrox 
  25. display-related features.

  31. To install Matrox PowerDesk, start the "Setup" program included 
  32. with it, then follow the on-screen instructions.

  34. The setup program will only install software if a Matrox graphics 
  35. card model supported by the setup program is installed in your 
  36. computer.

  43. hardware with DualHead support. These include:

  65. Notes, problems, and limitations
  66. ================================

  68. - Installation in different language versions of Windows
  69.  
  70.   If you install software in a language different from the 
  71.   language of your operating system (for example, English software 
  72.   on a Japanese system), you may have problems with text and 
  73.   dialog box controls being cut off. This is because of 
  74.   differences in system fonts.
  75.  
  76. - OpenGL (3D) support
  77.  
  78.   If you have a newer Matrox product or your Matrox software was 
  79.   provided by the manufacturer of your computer, full OpenGL 
  80.   support may be disabled with your Matrox display driver. For a 
  81.   Matrox display driver with full OpenGL support enabled, see the 
  82.   Matrox Web site (www.matrox.com/mga). (If your Matrox product 
  83.   was provided by the manufacturer of your computer, check the Web 
  84.   site of that manufacturer for a display driver. A display driver 
  85.   provided by the manufacturer of your computer is more likely to 
  86.   be tested with your computer model.)

  88. - Video playback with DualHead modes
  89.  
  90.   If you have a a DualHead supporting graphics card and you're 
  91.   using DualHead Multi-Display, Clone, or Zoom mode, digital video 
  92.   may appear as a solid color on your secondary display. This can 
  93.   happen if video is played using the hardware-overlay feature of 
  94.   your Matrox graphics card. Video played using the overlay 
  95.   feature is generally of higher quality but it can be viewed only 
  96.   on your main display.

  98.   Because only one program at a time can use the overlay feature, 
  99.   any other program started while the overlay feature is used 
  100.   won't be able to use the feature. The overlay feature will be 
  101.   available to the first program to start after the program 
  102.   currently using the overlay is closed.

  104.   For video that normally uses the hardware-overlay feature, you 
  105.   may be able to view the digital video on your secondary display 
  106.   by running another instance of the video player or by using a 
  107.   video player that dynamically supports both hardware-overlay and 
  108.   non hardware-overlay video playback (such as Microsoft Media 
  109.   Player 7).

  111. - 15-bit color palette support for Windows 2000/XP
  112.  
  113.   For advanced users: By default, the 15-bit color palette is 
  114.   unavailable for Windows 2000/XP. If you need to use this color 
  115.   palette, you can make it available by adding the 
  116.   "User.Enable15Bpp" value to your Windows registry and then 
  117.   setting this value to "1". If you're adding this value, add it 
  118.   under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" > "SYSTEM" > "CurrentControlSet" > 
  119.   "Services" > "mgau" or "g200" or "g400" > "Device0". The value 
  120.   type is "REG_DWORD".

  122. - MPEG video playback and bus mastering
  123.  
  124.   Mystique, Millennium II, Productiva G100, and G100 MMS -- While 
  125.   playing MPEG video files with the bus mastering feature enabled, 
  126.   your computer may stop responding. To disable bus mastering, 
  127.   right-click your Windows desktop background, select "Properties" 
  128.   > "Settings" > "Advanced" > "Options", disable "Use bus 
  129.   mastering", then click "OK" > "OK" > "OK" to restart your 
  130.   computer and for the changes to take effect.
