  8. Installation Instructions for ISYS INTRADISK Seach Engine<br>

  11.     To install the ISYS search engine, you must first run SETUP.EXE from the \isys\ directory on 
  12.  
  13. the CD.<br>
  14.     For Windows 95/NT users, go to the Start Menu and select Run... , and either browse the CD or 
  15.  
  16. type in the appropriate drive letter and the path \isys\setup.exe, and click OK.<br>
  17.     For Windows 3.1 users, use File Manager to browse the CD and find the setup.exe file in the 
  18.  
  19. \isys\ directory. Double click the file to run it.<br>
  20.  
  21.     The setup program will confirm the directory it is running from, and where it should install 
  22.  
  23. the ISYS Run-time Query module isysidp.exe (along with 3 other graphics files). The default 
  24.  
  25. destination will vary depending on your platform, and you can alter this destination path if you 
  26.  
  27. wish.<br>
  28.     You should now be able to search the CD by clicking on the search link.<p>

  32. TROUBLE SHOOTING<br>
  33. ================<p>
  34.  
  35.     IF you are still experiencing problems installing the module or searching the CD, you may 
  36.  
  37. have to manually configure your browser.<br>
  38.     Firstly, ensure that the four files :<br>
  39.         isysidp.exe<br>
  40.         Nexthit.gif<br>
  41.         nomore.gif<br>
  42.         Prevhit.gif<br>
  43.                 exist locally on your hard drive in the destination folder you specified during the setup program. If they do not then simply create a directory (for example  C:\ISYS), and copy these four files from the \ISYS\ directory on the CD to the new directory on your hard drive.<br>
  44.     Next, you must configure your browser to associate isysidp.exe for files with a .iip 
  45. extension. You can do this as follows:<br>
  46.  
  47.     For Netscape Navigator 4.0+ users :<br>
  48. 1) Go to the Edit Menu and select Preferences...<br>
  49. 2) Under Category, select Applications (listed under the item Navigator)<br>
  50. 3) Click on New Type...<br>
  51. 4) Complete the boxes with the following :<br>
  52.     Description of type : ISYSIDP File<br>
  53.     File extension : iip<br>
  54.     MIME Type : ISYS/IntraDisk<br>
  55.     Application to use : C:\ISYS\isysidp.exe<br>
  56. [Note : Replace the C:\ISYS\ with the path of the directory you have the file isysidp.exe in.]<p>

  59. For Netscape Navigator 3.0+ users :<br>
  60. 1) Go to the Options Menu and select General Preferences...<br>
  61. 2) Select the Helpers tab<br>
  62. 3) Click on Create New Type... and fill in the two boxes with as follows:<br>
  63.     <DD>Mime Type : ISYS<br>
  64.     <DD>Mime SubType : IntraDisk<br>
  65.     <DD>Click OK to continue.<br>
  66. 4) Type in the File extensions box : iip<br>
  67. 5) Select 'Launch the Application' under Action and select the directory C:\ISYS\isysidp.exe<br>                
  68. [Note : Replace the C:\ISYS\ with the path of the directory you have the file isysidp.exe in.]<p>

  71. For all other browser users (or those finding the above methods too complex) :<br>
  72. 1) In Windows Explorer, NT Explorer or File Manager, locate the file on the CD called isyssrch.iip. <p>
  73.  
  74. Double click it to attempt to run it.<br>
  75. 2) Windows should ask for an application to be associated with the unknown file extension... browse 
  76.  
  77. your hard disk for the file isysidp.exe in the directory you installed it into. Click OK to associate it.<p>
