  23. Il software Matrox PowerDesk include un driver dello schermo e alcune 
  24. utilitα. L'utilizzo di questo software consente di trarre pieno vantaggio 
  25. dall'hardware della scheda grafica Matrox e di accedere alle caratteristiche 
  26. di visualizzazione aggiuntive.

  32. Per installare Matrox PowerDesk, avviare il programma di installazione 
  33. incluso, quindi seguire le istruzioni che appaiono sullo schermo.

  48. Note, problemi e limitazioni

  51. - Supporto per DirectDraw, Direct 3D e DirectVideo
  52.  
  53.   Il driver DirectDraw fornito dalla Matrox Φ compatibile con DirectX 2 (e
  54.   versioni successive) e include il supporto per Direct 3D. AffinchΘ
  55.   venga richiamato il driver DirectDraw/Direct 3D e si possa sfruttare
  56.   l'accelerazione mediante hardware, DEVE essere installato Microsoft 
  57.   DirectX 2 (o una versione successiva), anche per i programmi che erano 
  58.   stati originariamente scritti per Microsoft DirectX 1.

  60.   Inoltre, se non Φ installata una versione recente di DirectX, alcune
  61.   caratteristiche di Matrox PowerDesk potrebbero non essere disponibili.

  63.   La Matrox fornisce DirectX sul CD-ROM Matrox. La versione pi∙
  64.   recente di DirectX Φ disponibile presso il sito della Microsoft sulla Web
  65.   ed Φ incluso in molti programmi DirectX.

  78. - Bus master Matrox
  79.  
  80.   Il driver supporta il bus master. Il bus master Φ una caratteristica 
  81.   che consente alle schede di espansione di eseguire operazioni 
  82.   contemporaneamente a quelle eseguite dalla CPU del computer. Se si 
  83.   possiede un computer Pentium che esegue le operazioni rapidamente 
  84.   (con velocitα superiore a 166 MHz), le prestazioni dello schermo per 
  85.   la maggior parte dei programmi migliorano quando si usa il bus master.

  87.   Per usare il bus master con i programmi 3D (DirectX), Φ necessaria una 
  88.   richiesta di interrupt (IRQ -- interrupt request) per la scheda 
  89.   grafica.La maggior parte dei computer assegna automaticamente un'IRQ 
  90.   alle schede grafiche, ma non tutti eseguono tale operazione. Se alla 
  91.   Scheda grafica in dotazione non Φ stato assegnato un'IRQ, i programmi 
  92.   che usano il bus master Matrox possono non funzionare correttamente.

  103. - Installazione in versioni in lingue diverse di Windows

  115.   Note the following limitations related to the OpenGL driver included with
  116.   Matrox PowerDesk:

  118.     - OpenGL support may not be included in some versions of Matrox PowerDesk.
  119.       For a version of Matrox PowerDesk with OpenGL support enabled, see
  120.       the Matrox Web site (www.matrox.com/mga).

  122.     - With the "Tribes" game, you may notice some minor display artifacts and 
  123.       the opening video introduction may not display properly.
  124.  
  125.     - Using 3D Studio Max 2.0, you may experience problems with the viewports
  126.       being improperly redrawn. If this happens, simply click in a viewport 
  127.       to properly update their display. (This problem isn't present with 
  128.       version 2.5 or 3.0 of 3D Studio Max.)

  130. - DualHead Multi-Display mode under Windows 2000
  131.  
  132.   If you have a DualHead-supporting graphics card and you apply "DualHead
  133.   Multi-Display" mode under Windows 2000, this version of Windows treats the 
  134.   main and secondary displays of a DualHead-supporting graphics card as a 
  135.   single display (which the Matrox display driver divides between two 
  136.   monitors). As a result, these displays always use the same resolution and 
  137.   color palette settings. Also, in your Windows desktop, the virtual positions 
  138.   of these displays are always aligned next to each other.

  140.   While in DualHead Multi-Display mode with a computer monitor as your 
  141.   secondary display, you can't adjust your secondary monitor with the Windows 
  142.   "Monitor" or the Matrox PowerDesk "Monitor settings" property sheets. If 
  143.   your secondary monitor supports Plug-and-Play (DDC), PowerDesk automatically 
  144.   uses the correct maximum display resolution and refresh rate. If your 
  145.   secondary monitor doesn't support Plug-and-Play, make sure that the correct 
  146.   settings are selected under "Max. secondary resolution" on the Matrox 
  147.   PowerDesk "DualHead" property sheet.

  149. - Video playback with DualHead modes
  150.  
  151.   If you have a a DualHead supporting graphics card and you're using DualHead 
  152.   Multi-Display, Clone, or Zoom mode, digital video may appear as a solid 
  153.   color on your secondary display. This can happen if video is played using 
  154.   the hardware-overlay feature of your Matrox graphics card. Video played 
  155.   using the overlay feature is generally of higher quality but it can be 
  156.   viewed only on your main display.

  158.   Because only one program at a time can use the overlay feature, any other 
  159.   program started while the overlay feature is used won't be able to use the 
  160.   feature. The overlay feature will be available to the first program to  
  161.   start after the program currently using the overlay is closed.

  163.   For video that normally uses the hardware-overlay feature, you may be able 
  164.   to view the digital video on your secondary display by running another 
  165.   instance of the video player. For example, if you're viewing a file using 
  166.   the overlay feature with Microsoft Media Player, double-clicking on the file 
  167.   again starts another instance of the Media Player. This instance properly 
  168.   plays video on your secondary display. Then, you could close the first 
  169.   instance of the Media Player and still be able to view video on your 
  170.   secondary display.

  174. - Supporto per la tavolozza di colori a 15 bit per Windows 2000

  176.   Per utenti esperti: la tavolozza di colori a 15 bit, normalmente non Φ 
  177.   disponibile in Windows 2000. Se si volesse utilizzare questa tavolozza di 
  178.   colori, si pu≥ abilitarla creando la chiave "User.Enable15Bpp" con il 
  179.   valore "1" nel registro di Windows.  Aggiungere tale chiave in
