  1. Tray Command Line

  3. Tray Command Line is a simple handy
  4. command line utility. It is designed to
  5. enhance the role of keyboard in Windows
  6. interface, by adding ability to easily
  7. launch programs with it. For example in
  8. TrayCL you can assign the "w" alias to
  9. MSWord ("C:\Program Files\Microsoft
  10. Office\Office\WINWORD.EXE"). Then, to
  11. start Word you would simply press
  12. Ctrl-Space and type "w" into TrayCL
  13. window that pops up. We find this way of
  14. launching programs much faster than
  15. using Start Menu especially when Start
  16. Menu has many entries and it gets hard
  17. to find the required program among them.
  18. Although TrayCL is designed primarily
  19. for launching programs, you can have it
  20. learn internal DOS commands as well
  21. (like dir,copy,del) by assigning aliases
  22. with those names. TrayCL also has many
  23. handy features like customizable
  24. activation Hotkey, Fast Alias addition,
  25. Command History, Windows Shell Commands
  26. (such as URL Opening), Fast Run Hotkey,
  27. Smart Text Auto-Completion. Now it also
  28. includes unix-like filename completion.
  29. TrayCL is designed to consume very little
  30. amount of memory and system resources. It is
  31. written in Visual C++ 6 and doesn't
  32. require any runtime dlls (in contrast to
  33. similar utilities that were written in
  34. Visual Basic). TrayCL is 100% freeware.
