- Known Problems
- ==============
-
- -When you play a HW MPEG (ie. Sigma Design's REALMagic or Margi To Go,
- etc.) in a DSTN panel, the video playback window initially comes up
- as pink or black. This is due to VPM and Clients communicatation
- problem. If this problem is encounter, use the mouse to click on any
- where on the playback window and the clip would come up fine.
-
- -With XGA panels, some noise appears on the left edge of the video
- windows in all display type when MVA is on.
-
- -Color is corrupted in Video windows when resizing SW MPEG playback with
- XGA panel in 800x600x256c. PDR#8075
-
- -Double image of MPEG file appears when toggling between 1x and 2x size
- using Mediamatics. PDR#7000
-
- -Continue resizing the mediamatic playback window causes system to hang up
- intermittenly. PDR#7108
-
- -Hotkey display switch causes error message in 1024x768x256c and 800x600x64K
- modes in some systems. PDR#5432
-
- -When expansion is enabled, VPM errors will occur while performing a video
- playback on either SimuSCAN or lcd only display using an 800x600 TFT
- panel.
-
- -VPM errors will occur when performing video playback on an XGA, 1024x768,
- TFT panels using Margi's MPEG to go card.
-
- -Toggle between DOS session and PM after setting to some low resolution
- standard modes causes unpreditable results.
-
- -Some problems encountered running different MPEG decoders.
-
- -Dashed line (dark and light pixels) sometimes appears when capture first
- enabled. Cannot find software cause.
-
-
- Win95 Driver limitation
- =======================
-
- -If you are running any Direct Draw game modes that is lower than 640x480
- (ie. 640x400), display switching is not allowed.
-
- -If you are playing video clips and what to change resolution or color depth,
- it is recommended to stop the playback first else you would see unpredictable
- result.
-
- -If you are running a graphic resolution that is different that Direct X
- game mode resolution, (ie. 800x600 Windows environment and 640x480 Foxbear),
- a hot-key display switching then followed by exiting Foxbear game would drop the entire
- Windows environment to Foxbear's resolution which was 640x480 instead of
- 800x600.
-
- -If you want to use hot-key to switch from a MVA-capable display type to a
- display type that is unable to handle MVA on, it will revert back to MVA off.
-
- -Once changing from MVA on to MVA off, the only way to get MVA again is
- to restart the playback in a configuration that allows MVA.
-
- -CR20[5] cannot be set to 0. We advise strongly that customers call BIOS
- function to implement standby instead of changing this bit through other
- means. PDR#7808
-
- -Case 35 failure in DCT part of TDDRAW. MS issue. PDR#7172
-
- -If you try to change resolution while DDraw game is being played (ie.
- Foxbear), Win95 may display an error message and terminate the game without
- prompting user to save. PDR#7138
-
- -Opening multiple video playback windows may cause GPF because there is
- no support for this feature.
-
- -In TV mode, open any application shows that bottom of the application is
- chopped off because TV uses 640x400 resolution mode.
-
- -Switching from any non-TV display type to TV requires Win95 to restart.
- This is by design.
-
- -In TV mode, the Win95 logo screen got shifted down because TV uses 640x400
- resolution mode.
-
- -VPM error message "use a lower resolution" will occur when performing HW
- MPEG video playback (eg. Sigma's REALMagic, etc.) using ZV port in some
- systems configuration. This is because the clients software do not handle
- the VPM return codes properly when memory bandwidth is encountered.
