  1. DOOM on-line help

  3. From this page you can install all the DOOM levels 
  4. we've provided by pressing (believe it or not) the 
  5. 'install all levels' button. This will need about 
  6. 5MB of space on your hard drive. If you pick this
  7. option and the program asks you whether or not to 
  8. 'overwrite' a file press 'y'. Don't worry this is a normal
  9. procedure.

  11. To install an individual DOOM level click on the appropriate
  12. button and you will be able to choose a directory 
  13. (by default C:\DOOM) to install to. Once the new level has been
  14. installed you can play it by exiting from the CD and
  15. changing to your DOOM directory (with any luck the
  16. same directory that you installed the new level to).

  18. Type: DOOM -FILE NEW_WAD_FILE.WAD <RETURN>

  20. where NEW_WAD_FILE.WAD is the name of the new level
  21. that you've installed.

  23. Some of the levels come with their own batch files that
  24. do the job for you.

  26. I would recommend that you read the text file before 
  27. installing as this provides useful information such as the 
  28. number of the level which you have installed. You will 
  29. need to know this so that you can 'jump' to it once you
  30. have loaded DOOM. To access the level, run DOOM 
  31. (see above) and then type, for example, IDCLEV 1 3
  32. This will 'jump' you to the third level of the first world.
  33. Substitute the 1 and the 3 for the numbers supplied by the
  34. read me.
