  1. You can play Pole-Position directly from the CD in typing F1DEMO.BAT.
  2. You will not be able to set the sound up unless you install the game to your hard drive.

  4. When you install Pole-Position (by typeing install.exe <ENTER? from the 
  5. root directory of the CD-ROM drive) onto the harddisk it needs approx.
  6. 45 MB of harddisk space. Before the first game starts please call up 
  7. the program SETUP, to adjust your sound-card settings. After that you can 
  8. start the program with F1DEMO.BAT.

  14. Question: Why is the sere packed in the upper half?

  16. Answer: Pole-Position was started with 'F.EXE'.  Instead of that start 
  17.         with 'F1DEMO.BAT'.

  20. Question: Why does the program crash when I start Pole-Position with Sound 
  21.           enabled.

  23. Answer: In the SETUP program there was given a wrong IRQ setting, or a 
  24.         wrong DMA-channel for the Soundcard.  Please start the program SETUP
  25.         at the demand for the Pole-Position directory and choose the Autotest 
  26.         or correct the respective adjustments.

  29. Question: When I start the program my computer displays:
  30.           'No environment space left'

  32. Answer 1: Please try to start Pole-Position from your DOS-prompt 
  33.           (DOSSHELL; NORTON COMMANDER, etc.) Stop it and start it directly 
  34.           from your DOS-PROMPT with F1DEMO.BAT.

  36. Answer2: Please insert the 'Shell=command.com /e:1024 /p' into your CONFIG.SYS
  37.          file. After that please start the computer again. If the 
  38.          parameter /e is already set, than increase the amount after  /e: 
  39.          by 200 each.
