-
- Well, You finally managed to install things, otherwise it would be quite
- impossible to get down here...
-
- How to use it....
-
- This crap started, when Rex and JP added the 'UNKNOWN_CMD' alias to the
- command interpeter, which was called, whenever you would normally get
- Bad command or filename.. -or- Unknown command ...
-
- So, to use the system-beeps (in the BEEP directory) are executed when
- sysbeep.exe is run. When you add the following to your aliases, you'll
- get a randomly chosen error sound thru your SoundBlaster (compatible)
-
- ┌────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
- │ c:\alias unknown_cmd = `echo Maybe YOU can do this: %&^sysbeep` │
- └────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
-
- The program uses executable samples. Included with the package was a
- utility VOC2EXE which can build an executable from a VOC-file.
- The VOC-Player should run on every SoundBlaster compatible card, but I
- can not garantee this. Please send _any_ bugs etc to us.
-
- The config files (.CFG) are read by the programs, and they can be created
- either by hand, or using the EXE2CFG utility. You should start the
- EXE2CFG utility from the directory in which your samples (the .EXE files
- created with VOC2EXE) are and give the name of the configuration file you
- want to create on the commandline.
-
- i.e. C:\DOS\BEEP>EXE2CFG ..\SYSBEEP.CFG
-
- ...read the help of EXE2CFG for more information...
-
- Adding login.exe in your path statement, and in your autoexec.bat
- (or equivalent), will make some noise when you turn your machine into
- action.. the same goes for those people, who like to 'LOG OFF' their
- computer, (As I do) flushing delayed-writes etc. You now can
- let your computer create a great noise, when you add the program
- LOGOFF.EXE to your alias/batch file which is used to flush cache..
-
- ...fiddle a little with it, and tell us whatever you think about it...
