  7.     When running the game it is recommended that no other
  8.     Windows programs or tasks are running.
  9.  
  10.     If you have a joystick, steering wheel or other controller
  11.     device, please make sure that it is configured and calibrated
  12.     under your Windows 95 Control Panel.

  14.     The Formula 1 '97 CD must be inserted in your CD drive in
  15.     order to play the game in Single Player mode.  However, you
  16.     may play in Network mode as normal without a CD being present.

  25.     Please ensure that, along with DirectX, you also have the
  26.     latest version of Glide installed, which can be obtained from
  27.     the 3Dfx web site (http://www.3dfx.com).

  32.     DirectX 5 will automatically be installed on your machine if
  33.     it is needed.  Please make sure that you also have the latest
  34.     version of your card's D3D drivers installed.

  36.     NB.  If you experience any problems with this version of
  37.     Formula 1 '97 and    your sound card, this is probably due to a DMA
  38.     bus-mastering conflict caused    by some motherboard and driver
  39.     combinations.

  42. Multiplayer Networking
  43. ======================

  45.     Set up your network game as detailed in the manual. In order to
  46.     run at the optimum speed you should use your fastest machine as
  47.     the host of the session, and limit the other traffic on your
  48.     network to a minimum.  Up to 8 player sessions are possible
  49.     depending upon LAN speed and host server specification.  It is
  50.     not possible to run a network game using a mixture of D3D and
  51.     Glide versions of the game.

  53.     As there is no pause menu in network mode, the selection of
  54.     controller device (keyboard / digital controller / analogue
  55.     controller) can be made from the options menu in the frontend
  56.     accessed by pressing the TAB key.

  58.     Tear off strips are not available in a Grand Prix network game.
  59.  
  60.     Draw distance can be changed in-game for slower machines by
  61.     pressing the F5 key (See note below).

  64. Saved Games
  65. ===========

  67.     If you want to uninstall Formula 1 '97, but keep your game
  68.     saves    for future use, you must first copy the file F197.SAV
  69.     from the game install folder (usually C:\PROGRAM FILES\
  70.     PSYGNOSIS\FORMULA 1 '97) to a different folder on your hard
  71.     disk, or to a floppy disk.  When you re-install the game you
  72.     must then copy the same file back into the install folder,
  73.     overwriting    the F197.SAV file that is already there.

  79.     The buttons on your wheel correspond to the following actions:
