  5. Web Weaver is an editor-like program which facilitates the coding of HTML 
  6. documents and pages for the World Wide Web.  Toolbar buttons and dialog 
  7. boxes make it easier to create the code that links your text and graphics 
  8. to the rest of the world.

  10. This program is SHAREWARE.  That means that it costs $10 (U.S.) (that's $8 
  11. for the program plus $2 Shipping & Handling only if I must U.S. mail the 
  12. program to you) to register and use it rightfully.  The user can evaluate 
  13. this software for 21 days to determine its usefulness and whether or not to 
  14. send payment to fund future development of this and other products.  Distribute
  15. this unregistered version freely.  This version (4.0c) is the "full" version 
  16. of Web Weaver.

  18. It contains the following main features:  
  19.  
  20.       - Easy hypertext creation (linking text to URLs, images, sounds, etc.)
  21.       - Easy inline image creation (linkable to external images, URLs, etc.)
  22.       - Easy Anchor creation
  23.       - Easy List creation (Bulleted, Numbered, Descriptive)
  24.       - Easy Address information creation.
  25.       - Helpful buttons for common tasks (bold, italics, headings, <P>, etc.)
  26.       - Linking to web browsers
  27.       - Utility to strip HTML code from your document nd save the text as 
  28.     another file
  29. BUT...
  30.       - A screen reminding you to register appears in the beginning (not in the
  31.         REGISTERED version).
  32.       - Extended Help files are not included (Only registered version).
  33.       - More HTML features will be added in later versions.
  34.       - Multiple document editing will be available in a later (Registered)
  35.     version    .
  36.       - User defined toolbar will be in a later (Registered) version.

  39. INSTALLATION:
  40.     Put the files WEBWEV4c.EXE, WEBWEV.HLP and WEBWEV.INI into any 
  41.     directory.
  42.     Put the files CMDIALOG.VBX, THREED.VBX, and VBRUN300.DLL into your 
  43.     WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.
  44.     Run WEBWEV4c.EXE from Windows and you are ready to go.
  45.     (You may have to alter the ini file to link to your browser 
  46.     correctly).

  52. HOW TO REGISTER:
  53.  
  54.     TO RECEIVE WEB WEAVER BY U.S. MAIL: 
  55.     Open the file REGISTER.WRI in Windows Write and print out the 
  56.     registration form.  Fill out the form and send it along with 
  57.     $10 (U.S.) made payable to Mark McConnell in the form of a check or 
  58.     money order to the address at the bottom of the form.  The $10 fee 
  59.     will license ONE copy for use on ONE computer at any ONE time.
  60.     (I can only send only one update to you if you want me to send it 
  61.     by US mail because of the postal costs).

  63.     TO RECEIVE WEB WEAVER BY EMAIL:
  64.     Follow the instructions above but only send $8 since I won't have to 
  65.     deal with shipping & handling costs.  I will supply you with 
  66.     continuous updates because it costs nothing to email it to you.  Be 
  67.     sure to specify whether you wish me to email the program to 
  68.     you.  It's also much faster!

  71. WHAT YOU'LL GET:
  72.     You will receive a full legal, registered copy of the software.  
  73.     If I have updated the program by the time I get your request then 
  74.     I will send you the most current version I have.  I will mail it to 
  75.     the address noted on your registration form.  You will also receive 
  76.     a license to use the software legally, help files, and free 
  77.     technical support via email.

  79.     Also, those who use email to receive their copies will receive any 
  80.     subsequent versions or software updates.

  82. HELP:
  83.     
  84.     IMPORTANT!!!  When opening an existing HTML file that was downloaded 
  85.     from your UNIX system, the carriage returns may not be recognized.  
  86.     Be sure to download/FTP it in ASCII format!
  87.     Also, if the program doesn't load in your file then there may be a
  88.     control character at the end of it.  Open the file in Notepad, 
  89.     delete the control character, and save it.  Then open it in Web
  90.     Weaver.

  93. The program is relatively straightforward.  Creating HTML elements is simple.  
  94. For example, suppose you want to bold a certain word/phrase in the HTML 
  95. document.  Just select the word/phrase to be bolded with the cursor and click 
  96. on the BOLD button.  This will place the HTML bold symbols around the text 
  97. you have selected:

  99.         <B>Text or phrase here.</B>
  100.  
  101. OR, you can begin by clicking the bold button.  This will place both beginning 
  102. and ending HTML bold symbols at the insertion point in the document and the 
  103. cursor will be placed in between them so you can begin typing the phrase you 
  104. wish to have bolded.

  106. Most of the other formating commands work the same way.  
  107.  
  108. Paragraph and Horizontal Rule commands place the respective HTML symbol on the 
  109. screen and then perform a carriage return to the next line.

  111. Inserting graphics and Hyperext are self explanatory.
  112. Methods of inserting Anchors and Lists are explained on their respective 
  113. dialog boxes.
  114. Cut/Copy/Paste are standard.

  117. VIEWING
  118.  
  119. Viewing documents is an easy click of a button when you specify your browser's path,
  120. filename, and caption title in the WEBWEV.INI file.  A good viewer to use is 
  121. SLIPKNOT available at the FTP site oak.oakland.edu in the SimTel/win3/internet
  122. directory as slnot110.zip  You don't need to be connected to an outside source with
  123. this application.  It can be used as just a viewer.
