  11. THE SHAREWARE CONCEPT

  13.   Shareware is licensed commercial software which the authors make available
  14.   on a try-before-you-buy basis.  Users may evaluate a Shareware product for a
  15.   period usually between 30 and 90 days, by the end of which they must either
  16.   pay for the product (known as Registration) or stop using it.

  18.   Copying of Shareware, subject to the above conditions, is not only allowed,
  19.   it is encouraged.  Pass copies on to interested friends and colleagues.
  20.   Shareware authors rely on the integrity of users to abide by the conditions
  21.   of the license, and register the product if they want to continue using it.
  22.   Many, like ARK ANGLES, also give added benefits to users who register.

  25. ABOUT THIS PRODUCT

  27.   This program is Shareware, and may be freely copied and distributed subject
  28.   to the terms described in the VENDOR.TXT file.  The program may be tried out
  29.   for up to 60 days without charge, after which time users should register it
  30.   or cease to use it.

  32.   Note that Shareware does not mean Freeware or Public Domain.  This program
  33.   is licensed software, and copying or using it without paying for it, except
  34.   as provided above, is a breach of copyright.

  38.   shareware, public domain, freeware, demo programs etc.

  43.   As stated, the license for this product entitles you to try it out for up
  44.   to 60 days.  Use of the unregistered product beyond that period, or the
  45.   distribution of any part of it except as allowed in the VENDOR.TXT file,
  46.   is a breach of copyright and is against the law.  But apart from the legal
  47.   obligation, there are many benefits to be gained from registering.  With

  74.   Individual registration of K-INSTALL Standard for either DOS or Windows
  75.   is A$65 (US$53, £35, Dm85, ¥5300).  This entitles one author to use and
  76.   distribute K-INSTALL royalty free with any number of programs they have
  77.   developed entirely themselves.

  79.   Business registration of K-INSTALL Standard for either DOS or Windows is
  80.   A$155 (US$125, £80, Dm200, ¥12500).  This entitles the business to use and
  81.   distribute K-INSTALL royalty free with any number of programs they have
  82.   developed by any number of employees in one development group at one site.

  84.   Register both the DOS and Windows versions together and get the second for
  85.   half price.  Individual registration is A$95 (US$77, £50, Dm125, ¥7700).
  86.   Business registration is A$225 (US$180, £115, Dm290, ¥18000).

  88.   For the serious developer, K-INSTALL Professional includes lots of
  89.   extra features such as complete customisation of all messages, basic copy
  90.   protection, ability to scramble the settings file, check for pre-existing
  91.   installation, separate optional component installation, text and graphics
  92.   slide shows, and more.  Both DOS and Windows versions are included in the
  93.   package.  Individual registration is A$125 (US$100, £65, Dm166, ¥6500).
  94.   Business registration is A$295 (US$240, £150, Dm385, ¥24000).

  96.   Individually customised versions are also available, in which your chosen
  97.   settings can be hard coded into the program itself.  This alleviates the
  98.   need for a separate settings file, makes your program more secure from
  99.   prying eyes, and results in a smaller install program.  Pricing for each
  100.   customised version is the same as for the equivalent generic program.

  102.   Upgrades to the latest version are available for half of the above
  103.   registration prices.

  105.   Updates are released regularly, and unregistered copies of the latest
  106.   version are available from ARK ANGLES for just a shipping charge of $5
  107.   each, or from many good Shareware vendors.

  111.   Need K-INSTALL in a hurry?  Ask for SPEED (Special Purpose Electronic

  135. HOW TO REGISTER

  137.   Nothing is simpler.  We accept cash (of course), cheques (but may wait for
  138.   them to clear if they are large amounts), credit cards (Bankcard, Visa or
  139.   Mastercard only), bank drafts or postal/money orders.

  141.   Credit cards will always be billed in Australian dollars (A$) so you get
  142.   the latest and best exchange rate.  Cash, cheques, drafts etc can be in
  143.   Australian dollars or your local currency.  Calculate local currency prices
  144.   from any of the published International prices at the current exchange rate.

  146.   There are four easy ways to register:

  148.   1. PHONE:  Get your credit card ready, and the details of your equipment as
  149.      listed in the ORDERFRM.TXT file.  Then call (047)588100 for Australian
  150.      customers or Intl+61-47-588100 for International customers, and leave
  151.      your ordering information with the operator or answering machine.

  153.   2. FAX:  If you have a fax card on your computer, then simply edit the file
  154.      ORDERFRM.TXT with all the necessary information, otherwise print it and
  155.      fill it in manually.  Make sure all your credit card info is there, then
  156.      fax it to (047)588638 for Australian customers or Intl+61-47-588638 for
  157.      International customers.

  159.   3. POST:  Print ORDERFRM.TXT and fill it in.  Ensure your credit card info
  160.      is there, or include a cheque, draft or money order and post the lot to

  163.   4. E-MAIL:  Insert ORDERFRM.TXT into a note, fill it in with your credit

  182.   to registered users for 12 months.  This includes direct access to the
  183.   author and distributor by post, phone, fax and e-mail, plus notification

  187.   user to suggest a new function or other improvement will, if the suggestion
  188.   is adopted, receive a free upgrade to the first version that includes that
  189.   function, in addition to any other upgrades they are entitled to.

  209. WARRANTY

  211.   ARK ANGLES and/or the author warrant the physical disks and related printed
  212.   matter to be free of significant defects in materials and workmanship, and
  213.   that the program works largely in accordance with its documentation.  This
  214.   warranty is effective for three months from date of registration, and is
  215.   not transferrable.

  217.   No liability is accepted for any loss, damage or inconvenience caused by
  218.   the use of this product.  No warranty is made that it is suitable for any
  219.   particular person or purpose.  If this product is useful to you then please
  220.   register it, otherwise don't use it and don't pay for it.

  222.   In any event, the liability of ARK ANGLES and/or the author is restricted
  223.   to either a refund of the registration paid, a replacement of the physical
  224.   disks and/or printed matter, or the provision of an upgrade to the latest
