  1. PLEASE READ THIS *ENTIRE* README FILE BEFORE USING RMM FP!
  2.  
  3. RMM FP should be installed in its own directory (ex. \RMMFP).
  4. To start the program, change to this directory (cd \rmmfp) and
  5. then enter FSFP at the DOS prompt.
  6.  
  7. When unzipped, you should have the following files:
  8.  
  9. FSFP.EXE, FSFPHELP.HLP, FSFPTIPS.HLP, USADATA.DAT, READ.ME,
  10. SAMPLE.PLN, SD-9.FPD, SD-9.NDX, SD-DEF.FPD, SD-DEF.NDX.

  12. .HLP files are the ASCII help/tip screens.
  13. .DAT files are data files for RMM FP such as defaults and data for plotting
  14.      a background map of the FS world.
  15. .PLN files are flight plans.
  16. .FPD files are RMM FP scenery area databases.
  17. .NDX files are indexs for the .FPD files.

  19. The ability to show a background map of the FS world is enabled by including
  20. the word MAP on the command line, when starting RMM FP.  Ex. FSFP.EXE /MAP
  21.  
  22. The sample flight plan (SAMPLE.PLN) requires SD-9.FPD to be the default
  23. database.

  27. When you first start RMM FP, the prescribed courses of action to take are:
  28.  
  29. 1) Select OPTIONS-DEFAULTS and enter your desired default settings.
  30. 2) Select OPTIONS-NORMAL and COMPRESSED and enter the setup strings for
  31.    your printer to enable normal and compressed print.
  32. 3) Review all the HELP screens beginning with GENERAL.
  33. 4) Open SAMPLE.PLN and run REPORTS-PLOT to see how plotting looks on
  34.    your video hardware.
