- Directions for installing and using the MPG Windows Conduit
-
-
- 1. Installing Conduit
- a. Copy "MPGCOND.DLL" to the same directory that the HotSync application is in.
- (It is probably C:\Palm\ or C:\pilot\).
- b. Double Click on the MPGCOND.REG file. This will add some necessary data to
- to the Windows Registry for the MPG Conduit.
- c. Hotsync.
-
-
- 2. MPG Conduit Options:
- a. You can choose to upload from MPG to the Palm or download from
- the desktop to MPG.
- b. Check All Transactions if you want MPG to upload all records
- everytime. Otherwise the conduit will only upload the records that
- have been changed since the last upload. * If you have All Transactions
- checked the the MPG.tdf file is deleted before uploading the full set
- of transactions again. If you do not have it checked then the conduit
- appends the new records to the end of the file.
- c. Date Format - pick the date format that you want the conduit to use.
-
-
- 3. Download data from desktop to Palm - TDF File Format
- a. Create a TDF file for the MPG conduit to download. The column
- format is:
- Date<tab>(Type)<tab>Vehicle<tab>Folder<tab>Payment<tab>Location<tab>Odometer<tab>Cost<tab>Description..
- Fuel <tab>Gallons<tab>FullTank<tab>Octane<cr>
- Trip <tab>Trip Point<tab>Purpose<cr>
- Repair/Service <tab>Category<cr>
- *The best idea is to upload some transactions from MPG to see
- the format it is looking for.
- b. Save the export file in the "ToPalm" folder located in the user hotsync
- directory in the MPG directory. "C:\Palm\SmithJ\MPG\ToPalm".
- (SmithJ will be your personal hotsync directory and most likely be your
- last name and your first initial of your first name.)
- You must end the file name with the .TDF extension or MPG won't download it.
-
-
- 4. Upload data from Palm - TDF File Format
- a. A file called MPG.tdf will be created in your user directory:
- "C:\Palm\SmithJ\MPG\FromPalm" directory.
- c. Import the .tdf file into a spreadsheet or database.
- d. After you import the .tdf file you should delete the MPG.tdf file
- from the FromPalm directory.
