  1.     Intelligent FTP Version1.5b  README and Release notes

  3.  The "I.F." is an automation tool that helps you transferring files on i'net 
  4. by FTP or HTTP. Its main features are:
  5.  
  6. Transfer files at your desired time:
  7. You can let "IF" transfer several files that located at different hosts at 
  8. desired time and needn't  monitor the transfer process. This "timed transfer" 
  9. function can free you from tedious waiting and retrying, also saves your 
  10. money and time ! (if you choose transferring at "half-price" time or when
  11. network is not busy.)
  12.  
  13. "Intelligent" adaptation to your system and error recovery.
  14. With the advanced "Intelligent recording and play back" technique, "I.F." can 
  15. fit in many kinds of TCP/IP environments, including direct connection and 
  16. dial-up connection. As a fully automated solution, "I.F."  has strong error 
  17. recovery functions that are able to handle most common connection problems , 
  18. even some "unexpected" errors.

  20. Working together and easy link-up with your browser
  21. By using the "URL shortcut" floating button, you can easily send net resource 
  22. names (location+filename) from your browser to "I.F.", and add them to "timer 
  23. download list" or get them immediately.

  25. Facilitate using for both new users of Internet and experienced users.
  26. New users can display, change dir, download or upload files very easily with 
  27. command button. Experienced user can take advantage of session window, 
  28. "restart" and "ftp command line" functions to interact with remote server and 
  29. perform advanced operations.

  33. Please noted that the encrypt method of user name and password have changed. 
  34. Please re-generate your IFTDL.LST before timer download files. (In commercial
  35. version, please use "Edit TDL List" function to change every connection's
  36. username and password)
  37. The IF15.exe (3/05/97 10:00) is slightly changed to fix a small problem of
  38. session displaying.

  40. Improvements to IF1.5a:
  41. *In "Setup Auto-connect", allow user to specify a program to launch (user's 
  42. dialer EXE) at time "I.F." is going to connect. Enables automatic start 
  43. 32-Bit winsocket dialer by using the "start32.exe".
  44. *Allow longer file/path name or shortcut name . Improved file display.(full name)
  45. *Improved "Timer Download Engine", become more robust & allow user adjust 
  46. "Timer out" values to be best adapt to user's system.
  47. *Directory cache: Speed up file listing of previous cached directory.
  48. *Help files improved.
