  15.    This package contains the following software:

  17.      -  Audio drivers
  18.      -  DOS Mixer program
  19.      -  DOS Diagnostic program
  20.      -  Creative Mixer (Windows 3.1 version)
  21.      -  AWE Control Panel (Windows 3.1 version)

  24. 2. Installing the software
  25.  
  26.    To install the software:
  27.      1.  Exit to DOS if you are in Windows.
  28.      2.  Put the entire set of files in this package into a
  29.          sub-directory on your hard disk (or diskette).
  30.      3.  At the DOS prompt, change to the drive/directory where the
  31.          installation files are located.
  32.      4.  Type INSTALL, and press the ENTER key.
  33.      5.  Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the
  34.          installation.

  37. 3. If your audio card is a Plug and Play audio card
  38.  
  39.    If your audio card is a Plug and Play audio card, you need to
  40.    install a Plug and Play Configuration Manager before you proceed
  41.    with the software installation.

  43.     * If you do not have a Configuration Manager, please download the
  44.       Creative PnP Configuration Manager (CTCM) from the Creative Labs
  45.       FTP site or World Wide Web site.

  48. 4. Full-Duplex Constraints
  49.  
  50.    To make full use of the full-duplex recording and playback feature,
  51.    please make sure you observe the following constraints:
  52.  
  53.    a. Start only one session of simultaneous playback and recording.
  54.    b. Use the same sampling rate for both operations.
  55.    c. Preferably play back and record audio files which are in 
  56.       uncompressed (that is, Pulse Code Modulation or PCM) wave format.
  57.    d. Reduce the sampling rate for both operations  if  your  audio 
  58.       playback and recording session is too slow.
  59.    e. Start your Windows 3.1 in enhanced mode.
  60.    f. Check that the version number of the CSPMAN.DLL file in your 
  61.       Windows SYSTEM directory is 3.51 or later.

  66.    To help you obtain information on the applications in this package 
  67.    easily, we have compiled a set of on-line documentation which can be 
  68.    accessed from your audio card's group window in Windows 3.1.  Just 
  69.    double-click on the icon(s) with names that start with the words 
  70.    "How to Use".
