  36.     II. Installation Instructions for Lexmark 3000 Color Jetprinter

  38.      1. Make sure the printer power is on.
  39.  
  40.     2. Start Windows.
  41.  
  42.     3. If you are installing the driver from diskette, then 
  43.        insert the diskette into drive X, where X is the letter 
  44.        of your disk drive.
  45.  
  46.     4. From the Start Menu, choose Run.
  47.  
  48.     5. If you are installing the driver from diskette, then
  49.        type X:setupwin.exe in the Open: text box and click OK.
  50.  
  51.     6. If you are installing the driver from a bulletin board
  52.        package, then type X:\path\setupwin.exe in the Open: text
  53.        box and click OK.  X:\path\ is the folder in which you 
  54.        placed the driver package.
  55.  
  56.     7. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  57.            - When you are prompted to select the printer's 
  58.            manufacturer and model, click Have Disk.
  59.  
  60.            - In the "Install From Disk" dialog box, type X: if you
  61.            are installing from diskette, or X:\path\ if you are
  62.                installing from a driver package.
  63.         
  64.                - Click OK.
  65.  
  66.     8. Select your printer from the list that appears and click Next>.
  67.  
  68.     9. When the Align Cartridges dialog box appears, follow the        
  69.        instructions on your screen to properly align your print
  70.        cartridges.  For help, see your User's Guide.

  73.     III.  Special Instruction for Lexmark 3000 Color Jetprinter 
  74.     ============================================================
  75.         This package contains two NT drivers for your printer.  If you 
  76.     print on a variety of media such as standard paper, transparencies,
  77.     and glossy paper, then you should install both drivers.
  78.       
  79.     The "Lexmark 3000 Color Jetprinter" driver is optimized to 
  80.     use both the black and color cartridges when printing on 
  81.     standard paper and envelopes.  It supports printing true black
  82.     (rather than composite black) and color on the same page.  It 
  83.     also supports true black printing for better performance on
  84.     monochrome pages.  Follow the instructions in Section II to
  85.     install this driver.

  87.     The "Lexmark 3000 (Special Media)" driver is optimized for
  88.     printing on special media such as transparencies and glossy 
  89.     paper.  For color jobs, this driver uses only the color cartridge
  90.     and produces better looking color pages on transparencies and glossy 
  91.     paper. It also supports true black printing for better performance on
  92.     monochrome pages.  Follow the instruction in Section II to install 
  93.     this driver.
