  4. Mastering in a secure environment:
  5. ----------------------------------

  7. !!PLEASE READ BEFORE MASTERING!!
  8.  
  9. 1) All PCs used for mastering CDs should be dedicated PCs, i.e.: used solely
  10. for producing CD masters, with only software necessary for CD mastering
  11. installed, and isolated, with no connection to the internet or other networks
  12. which may be exposed to viruses.
  13.  
  14. 2) The mastering PC should be protected by a reputable Virus scanner, e.g.:
  15. Sophos, Norton, AVP or F-Prot, installed and maintained as per the AV company's
  16. guidelines.
  17.  
  18. 3) All data to be included on the CD should be supplied on non-infectable media
  19. (i.e.: Gold CDs written with a single closed session) and scanned by at least 2
  20. reputable AV scanners before copying to the mastering PC. All AV scanning
  21. should be done in "full" mode, scanning every file regardless of extension.
  22. Refer to your AV vendor(s) for instructions on how to do this.

  24. 4) The final CD masters should be again checked by AV scanners before glass
  25. mastering.

  27. If you cannot assure Sophos that you are following the above instructions then
  28. you will not be permitted to distribute the software on this CD.

  45. are no path dependencies.

  48. Installing Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 95/98

  51. To install Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 95/98 run SETUP.EXE from the
  52. SOPHOS\WIN95 folder. For further instruction see the "Quick start" guide
  53. QSWIN95.pdf supplied in the SOPHOS\DOCS folder.
