  227.    will be denied.

  293. Suppose your Proxy-Pro GateKeeper is chained with another proxy, located at your ISP. 
  294. The proxy server located at your ISP requires authentication (user identifier 
  295. and password) for every request. By using the standard version of our 
  296. HTTP proxy you will be asked about the user id and password for every html page 
  297. you will want to see on your browser. To get rid off this annoying problem you 
  298. should simply check the Enable_Proxy_Authorization checkbox and the Proxy-Pro
  299. GateKeeper HTTP proxy will do that (entering user and password) for you. 
  300. As you can see the HTTP proxy authorization makes sense only when the HTTP proxy 
  301. has the Forwarding option checked.

  390. For TCP/IP to work on your computer you must assign an IP address, specify the
  391. subnet mask, and the default gateway for each network adapter installed on the
  392. computer. TCP/IP can be configured in one of two ways: - automatically, if
  393. there is a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server on your intranet,
  394. - manually, if there is no DHCP server. Use the DHCP server to support
  395. automatic configuration and addressing for computers using TCP/IP on
  396. your Intranet.

  400. A copy of the pages you are visiting along with any resources contained inside
  401. it is saved in the cache. The next time you want to visit the same pages the
  402. locally saved ones are given to your browser. In this way you speed up browsing
  403. and minimize the amount that needs to be downloaded through your modem/ISDN
  404. connection. All pages have a time-to-live (TTL) period. After the TTL time
  405. expires and you access the page again, it is checked against the version that
  406. is available on the original site. If a newer version is available, it is
  407. downloaded and saved over the older version and given to the browser. Otherwise
  408. the local copy is given to the browser.

  410. 3. SOCKS Proxy

  412. The SOCKS proxy allows any SOCKS 4/SOCKS 5 compatible client to access the
  413. Internet as if the client was directly connected to the Internet. To use
  414. SOCKS 4/SOCKS 5, you must have DNS available on your LAN.

  429. code. The files are parsed and executed with the help of a VB Scripting engine
  430. and the resulting HTML file is given to the browser. By modifying these AGP
  431. files you can modify the look and functionality of the configuration pages that
  432. are delivered to the browser.

  437. Configuring Proxy-Pro GateKeeper 4.5

  440. 1. After installing Proxy-Pro GateKeeper 4.5 on your gateway computer you 
  441. can start the configuration process using your prefered browser. 
  442. Important: Please check that your browser is configured to use HTTP 1.1 throught proxy connections
  443. and the 'Bypass proxy server for local addresses' checkbox is selected.

  445. 2. Go to the Start menu and open: Programs->GateKeeper 4.5->Administration->
  446. Login and administration. This will launch GateKeeper Access client program.
  447. For the first time, you don't have to specify a password.

  449. The password for the 'Administrator' account is void when accessing the 
  450. Configuration pages for the first time. 
  451. Fill in the name of the computer ( GATEWAY for example ) and press the
  452. 'Connect' button. Following this, your default browser will be launched and you will be
  453. connected to the Proxy-Pro GateKeeper administration pages.
