Proxy-Pro GateKeeper can be used to let the computers in your LAN to access the Internet and to let the users from the Internet to access your LAN under your control.
You can specify which sites are accessible to your LAN and which are not. More than that, you can schedule the period of time the Internet is available for your LAN. For example you can specify that the user named "John" is able to access the Internet only between 10 and 17. This way you are able to control the accessibility to the Internet from your company LAN.
To establish the rules of accessibility you have three choices:
<li><a href="#Outgoing">Outgoing rules</a> - establish the way the users from your LAN can access the Internet,
<li><a href="#Incoming">Incoming rules</a> - establish the way the users outside your LAN can access your Intranet,
<li><a href="#Access">Access rules</a> - establish which users from your LAN must authorize them in order to access the Internet and which must not.
This option lets you specify which sites are accessible to your LAN and which are not. You can state for example that the sites containing www.xxx are not available to you LAN. More than that, you can schedule the period of time the Internet is available for your LAN. For example you can specify that the user named "John" is able to access the Internet only between hours 17 and 19 every day. This way you are able to control the accessibility to the Internet from your company LAN.

After selecting this item, the <Outgoing rules> page appears. This page contains a table with the currently defined rules. The table has two fields:
<li>"Name" - (the name of the user/group the rule is defined for) as a link and
<li>"Type" - (specifies the target the rule is defined for - for the group or for the individual user).

Bellow the table two buttons are located: <New user rule> and <New group rule>. Pressing one of these two buttons you can add a new EMPTY user/group rule.

After you have added a user/group rule the <Rules for group/user "name"> page is displayed. This page contains a table with the rules on protocols (scheduler for protocols), under the table is the "Add new time scheduling rule" link. Under this link is a table with the site list, the "Add new site" link and the <Allow/Deny> button.

Selecting the "Add new time scheduling rule" link the <Select the protocol you want to add the rule for> page will appear.
In this page you can select a protocol from the combo box and press the "Commit" button to add a scheduler for this protocol.
The protocol will appear in the "Time scheduling on protocols" table. Selecting the protocol name (is a link) the <Edit "name" protocol time schedule for "username">
page will appear with a table containing checkboxes. Each row represents a day of the week; each colon represents an hour from a day. A checked checkbox means DENIED ACCESS.

Selecting the "New site" link, the "Add site" page appears. In the Site (IP address or URL containing...) textbox write the IP address, the IP mask or the URL of the site you want to add to the site list.

In order to remove the Outgoing rules for a user, press the <Remove> button.
Here you can define who can access Proxy-Pro GateKeeper from the Internet. You can add IP addresses, IP masks and IP ranges (193.161.123.89 - 193.161.123.200). Click "Edit/Delete" to edit/remove an IP address/IP mask/range.

The access type is "Allow all incoming connections except IP FILTERS" or "Deny all incoming connections except IP FILTERS."
Here you can add access restrictions for each user that uses the Proxy-Pro GateKeeper 4.0 service. The administrator can specify for each user account what are the IP addresses allowed in order to connect with the Proxy-Pro GateKeeper Access program or without it (Guest access).
<br>The access type is "Allow access from all IP addresses except IP FILTERS" or "Deny access from all IP addresses except IP FILTERS."

In order to allow Guest access from all IP addresses, create a new Access Rules for the user "Guest".
Here you can introduce an IP filter with your LAN IP mask to allow Guest access from all computers inside Your LAN.
If you want to allow Guest access from anywhere, remove the IP masks, and then press the "Allow" button.
