  7. No Blink and No Blink with Date/Time are two tiny programs which will make 
  8. your text cursor (caret) rock steady.
  9.  
  10. No Blink with Date/Time will also display a digital clock formatted any way 
  11. you like.

  13. These progams are in NOBLINK1.ZIP along with a windows help file.

  16. Installation
  17. ------------

  21. Copy NOBLINK.EXE, and optionally NOBLINK.HLP to the same directory on your 
  22. hard disk.
  23. Start Program Manager and open the group you want to launch No Blink from. 
  24. ("StartUp" is recommended). Now select File|New to create a new item and use 
  25. the Browse command to locate NOBLINK.EXE. No Blink is now ready to run. Note 
  26. that when run the only visible clues that it is running are that your caret 
  27. is steady and No Blink appears in your Task Manager's list of running 
  28. programs. No Blink can only be terminated by selecting it in Task Manager 
  29. and choosing End Task.

  31. No Blink with Date/Time

  33. Copy NOBLINKT.EXE, and optionally NOBLINK.HLP to the same directory on your 
  34. hard disk.
  35. Start Program Manager and open the group you want to launch No Blink with 
  36. Date/Time from. ("StartUp" is recommended). Now select File|New to create a 
  37. new item and use the Browse command to locate NOBLINKT.EXE. No Blink with 
  38. Date/Time is now ready to run. You may wish to customise the font, font size 
  39. and the format of the date and time displayed: to do so you add command line 
  40. options after the path and name of the program in the Command Line section. 
  41. (See Options.) No Blink with Date/Time can only be terminated by selecting 
  42. it in Task Manager and choosing End Task.

  44. Uninstalling
  45.  
  46. Simply delete the No Blink files from their directory and their entries in 
  47. the Program Manager group.

  50. Compatibility

  53. These programs run under Windows and require the Visual Basic runtime 
  54. library VBRUN300.DLL, obtainable from the same source as the No Blink 
  55. programs.
  56. Neither program changes WIN.INI or any of your other files.

  58. These programs work with Windows 3.x, Windows for Workgroups 3.x, Windows NT 
  59. and Windows '95 beta, and with all applications which follow Microsoft's rules. 
  60. (Sadly this means that the caret in Word versions 2 and 6 will continue 
  61. blinking - Microsoft don't appear to follow their own rules: if you dislike 
  62. blinking cursors why not ask Microsoft to provide a "No Blink" option in 
  63. Control Panel's Desktop.)

  68. You are free to use No Blink for as long as you wish free of charge. You may 
  69. copy No Blink freely and give the copies away.
  70. You may not sell No Blink, nor include it with software which is sold without 
  71. written permission of the author.
  72. If you are a shareware vendor you may charge a small fee for media, copying 
  73. and postage, but nothing for the software itself.
  74. The software is not supported, but if you have any problems (or solutions!), 
  75. the author would be glad to hear from you.
