  12. Binic is the first program I distribute through share/freeware canal.
  13. I hope you will like it and it will be useful.

  15. This Windows version is a complete rewriting of an old DOS version I wrote
  16. in 1991. 
  17.  
  18. If you enjoy and/or use it, please send me a postcard of your home town.
  19. If you have time enough, feel free to add any comments, remarks or
  20. suggestions you may find appropriate.

  29. It is, of course, as useless as expensive to send it by express or plane.
  30. Keep it cheap but, please, do write.

  32. This program represents hours of work. It has been carefully tested and
  33. checked against bugs and inconstancies. Writing the documentation in english
  34. required a tremendous effort for me.
  35. For all that work, I just ask you a very simple thing : send me a postcard.
  36. I just would like to see how far it will go and how many people will use it.

  38. For sure, I made mistakes. Please be tolerant. As I told you this is a first
  39. experiment : things can only improve.

  41. If you don't like it, you may also write to me and tell me why. I may
  42. improve only if I know about my mistakes.

  44. 1. Installation
  45.  
  46. Caution !
  47. If you receive Binic in a ZIP archive, you must decompress it with
  48. the -d switch to create directories store in archive.
  49.  
  50. Use the INSTALL program found on the distribution disk to install Binic.
  51. INSTALL will  place the files into a subdirectory on  your hard disk and
  52. add Binic's icon to the Pineapple group of the program mananger.
  53. To run the installation program from Drive A type :

  55.         WIN A:INSTALL
  56.  
  57. or, if Windows is active,  select the program manager's File|Run command
  58. and type :
  59.  
  60.         A:INSTALL
  61.  
  62. validate with the OK button.
  63. Now, just follow instructions given by INSTALL.  Normally,  all you have
  64. to do  is choose a directory to copy Binic in and make sure distribution
  65. disk is in your drive.

  71. Binic is distributed "as is" I.e. without any guaranty implicit or explicit.

  73. Though Binic has been carefully developed and tested, some problems may
  74. still occur. You assume the responsibility for using Binic. If something
  75. went wrong, you have all my sympathy but nothing else.

  77. You are granted the right to use the current release Binic, make copies for
  78. backup purpose and distribute it as long as unmodified and complete
  79. (including full documentation).

  81. If require, you may charge some fee to cover distribution costs provided it
  82. is made clear to the customer that he didn't pay for Binic. Those fees may
  83. not exceed 10$.
