  20.         The drivers run with the following boards:

  23.              V7-MERCURY P-64
  24.              SPEA Graphiti HiLite
  25.              SPEA Graphiti FIRE

  28.         2) Installation
  29.         ===============
  30.         (Copy all created files onto a empty, formatted disk, in the following
  31.         named "BigMicro Disk").
  32.  
  33.         1) Put the disk with the "SPEA BigMicro" software in drive a:
  34.            and type
  35.              A:
  36.              INSTALL
  37.            Follow the installations hints.
  38.  
  39.         2) Change to the \USTATION directory.
  40.  
  41.         3) Run the USCONFIG program to select the device driver
  42.            for your SPEA board.
  43.            Select a second adapter if needed.
  44.            Note: In the configuration menu there are offered:
  45.                  "SPEA S3 PROT. MODE DRIVER" - 2D driver for V7 boards
  46.                  "SPEA i860 DRIVER WITH 3D FUNCTIONS"- 3D driver for FIRE
  47.                  "SPEA i860 PROT. MODE DRIVER " - 2D driver for FIRE
  48.                  "SPEA TMS PROT. MODE DRIVER" - 2D driver for HiLite
  49.  
  50.         4) Select 'Exit' and 'Save'.
  51.  
  52.         5) Configuration of the MicroStation device driver via the
  53.            environment variable MSPEAPM
  54.  
  55.            You will find the file "MSPEAPM.BAT" in your \SPEA\GDC directory.
  56.            In the simplest case you have only to start this file and
  57.            the environment variable will be set.
  58.            Note: - In a DoubleScreen solution (2 * S3) MSPEAPM can be set as
  59.                    follows:"set mspeapm=-c11 -v0 -b -lc10 -lv0"
  60.                    In a DoubleScreen solution (FIRE & S3) MSPEAPM can be set as
  61.                    follows: "set mspeapm=-c0 -v0 -b -lc10 -lv0"
  62.                  - You will be asked whether you want to disable the virtual
  63.                    graphics page. If you disable the 2nd graphics page you can
  64.                    choose resolutions up to 256 colors. If you enable the 2nd
  65.                    graphics page, all possible resolutions are displayed with
  66.                    16 colors only.

  68.            If you don't need a standard configuration you must change
  69.            the file:

  71.            SET MSPEAPM=-Ccardr -Vx [-LCcardl -LVx]

  73.            -Ccardr defines the graphics board type for the single screen or
  74.             the graphics board type for the right screen
  75.            -Ccardl defines the graphic board for the left screen (only for
  76.             dual screen configuration)

  78.            cardl, cardr can be:
  79.              0: Graphiti main board (FIRE)
  80.              1: Graphiti secondary board (FIRE)
  81.             10: SPEA V7-board with activated VGA part
  82.                 (MERCURY- MIRAGE serie with ISA-,VL- oder PCI-Bus)
  83.             11: SPEA V7-board with deactivated VGA part

  85.            -Vx video mode for main/left screen
  86.            -LVx video mode for right screen
  87.  
  88.            The parameter "x" for SPEA Graphiti you can read in your manual or
  89.            after starting the programs 860MODE/HIMODE.
  90.            If you work with S3-chip based SPEA V7-boards you can start
  91.            VMODE in your \SPEA\GDC directory you get a list of the available
  92.            modes.
  93.            Note: The driver supports olny 8 or 32 bit color dept.

  96.              SET MSPEAPM=-C10 -V11
  97.                  SPEA V7 MERCURY with video mode no. 11

  99.              SET MSPEAPM=-C0 -V0 -LC10 -LV0
  100.                 z.B. Fire for the right screen, MERCURY for the left
  101.                 screen, each with the highest resolution.

  104.                 MERCURY P-64 (PCI/VL) for the left screen,
  105.                 MERCURY P-64 (PCI/VL) with inaktiv VGA part for right screen,

  110.         3) Possible board combinations

  113.            For the Doublescreen configuration with 2 SPEA V7-cards you have
  114.            the following possibilities:
  115.            2 x MERCURY P-64 PCI
  116.            2 x MERCURY P-64 VL
  117.  
  118.            For the Doublescreen configuration with 1 SPEA V7-card and the
  119.            FIRE you have the following possibilities:
  120.            1. Card: SPEA V7-Karte (s.o.)
  121.            2. Card: FIRE
  122.  
  123.            Note: For the Doublescreen configuration with SPEA V7-Karten
  124.                  SPEA will offer a 'SPEA DoubleScreen' package in the future.
  125.                  This package will contain two V7-MERCURY P-64 (PCI/VL) Cards
  126.                  and the necessary software for this combination under
  127.                  MicroStation/DOS.
  128.                  Before using the 'SPEA DoubleScreen' package you have to
  129.                  install the Dual Screen Disk.
  130.                  SPEA offers also the '3D WORLD' package, which contains
  131.                  among other drivers one 3D driver for MicroStation 5.0/DOS
  132.                  for the S3 chip based V7 SPEA boards.
