This archive must be extracted using the -D extraction
switch to a temp directory on your hard drive.
The syntax is as follows;
85vl_v20.exe -D {path to destination}
Once extracted there will be a subdirectory named
DISK1. Under that directory will be another sub-
directory named WIN31. There will be another directory
named DISK2. If you do not see the following directory
structure then the file was not extracted properly.
C:\temp
\DISK1\
| \WIN31
|
\DISK2\
In order to install the files in these directories it is
neccessary for you to prepare two blank 1.44 floppy disks.
Mark them disk 1 and disk 2. We will assume that your A:\
drive is your 1.44 drive for demonstration purposes.
Place disk 1 in your a:\ drive, from windows file manager,
highlight all the files in the DISK1 and WIN31 subdirectories
on your hard drive. Then copy those files and directories to
the floppy in drive a:\.
Once completed then copy all the files from the DISK2 sub-
directory to the second floppy in drive a:\.
NOTE: Prior to installing these drivers you must reset
Windows 3.1 Driver display to VGA.
These steps will create the installation disk set.
To Install place disk one in the a:\ drive. From DOS
change directories to the A:\ prompt. From that prompt
type 85setup then press enter. From this point follow
all the prompts for your specific installation needs.
NOTE: Prior to changing resolutions in Windows 3.1 you
must run the SYNC.COM utility in the Genoa subdirectory
first, to set your refresh rate capability in the video
bios.
If you have any questions regarding installation please,
