  1. How do you get a HotSyncName under Unix??
  2.  
  3. Follow these steps:
  4. Set PalmPilot in HotSync cradle
  5. invoke install-user program, specifying serial port and HotSyncUser name as argument, like:
  6. % install-user /dev/pilot HotSyncName
  7. Tap HotSync button
  8. Remove PalmPilot from the cradle and check registered HotSyncName, with menu: Options|Register Software in Datebk3.

  10. Installing the Icon Bitmaps and TimeZone data under Unix.

  12. Use the files with '-UNIX' in their filename. These files are set up to just use a LineFeed as a line terminator per Unix conventions
