- 1. Supported Formats
-
- * This Program Supports
-
- 1. SubRip (*.SRT)
- * Defines Subtitles with Time
- 2. MicroDVD (*.SUB)
- * Defines Subtitles with Frames (Framerate Change Desync Possible)
- 3. SubViewer 2.x (*.SUB)
- * Defines Subtitles with Time
-
- NOTE : I planed to implement SubViewer 1 support too, but it's time
- definition was too stupid (Whole Seconds only).
- I recommend not to use it.
-
- ==================================================================================
-
- 2. Opening a Subtitle File
-
- On the right side you can see the content of currently opened
- file. Subtitle Studio (SS) can work with only one opened file.
- To open a file press the OPEN button in the upper right corner.
-
- ==================================================================================
-
- 3. Framerate Conversions
-
- Not every movie is grabbed at same framerate. DVD's are
- mostly 25 or 30 FPS but there are ex. 15 FPS ASF Files too.
- If your downloaded subtitle file doesn't match your video,
- their framerates may not be identitcal. To correct this
- you can use SS like this :
-
- 1. Open the subtitle file.
- 2. If you know the subtitle's source framerate
- select it in INPUT FILE -> FPS combo box.
- Or you can press the INPUT FILE -> FPS from Video
- button to get FPS directly from video file.
- 3. In OUTPUT FILE -> FPS select target video's framerate
- ( you can use OUTPUT FILE -> FPS from Video too )
- 4. You can see that the values are changed.
- 5. In OUTPUT FILE -> Output File Format Select
- a format (in framerate conversions i recommend to
- select output format similar to input format)
- 6. Click Save.
-
- That's it.
-
- Another Example :
-
- I have a DivX Video Matrix grabbed from DVD at unknown framerate
- with subtitles . My friend has ASF Matrix at unknown framerate.
- Subtitles don't match.
-
- 1. Open matrix.sub
- 2. INPUTFILE -> FPS From Video : Select my MATRIX.AVI (DIVX)
- 3. OUTPUTFILE -> FPS From Video : Select friend's MATRIX.ASF (ASF)
- 4. Now I can see that the conversion will be in 25/15
- 5. Save converted sub -> MATRIX2.SUB
- 6. That's it.
-
- NOTE : When using SubRip or SubViewer 2.x framerate conversions are not needed.
-
- ==================================================================================
-
- 4. Time <-> Frames Conversions
-
- This case occures when converting [SRT, SubViewer 2.x] --> SUB (MDVD)
- Do it like this :
-
- 1. Open Subtitle File
- 2. If Converting Time Subtitles > * in OUTPUTFILE -> FPS select
- target framerate or push
- FPS from Video
- * Click Frames ( Mode )
-
- If converting Frame Subtitles > * in INPUTFILE -> FPS select
- the source video's framerate or push
- FSP from Video
- * Click Seconds ( Mode )
- 3. Select OutPut Format
- * If Converted to Frames, select MicroDVD SUB
- * If Converted to Time, select SubRip or SubViewer 2.x
- 4. Click Save
-
- ==================================================================================
-
- 5. Joining Files
-
- Sometimes you need to join two or more files. Do it like this :
-
- 1. Open The First File
- 2. Click Join And Select The Second File
- NOTE : I STRONGLY RECOMMEND TO JOIN SUBTITLES IN SAME FORMAT
- 3. Joining Form appears...
- 4. If Modify Values is checked the second file's values will be
- recomputed and appended at the end.
- If you want the second file to be connected some time later,
- set the time in the GAP editing box and press Preview to check
- the changes
- 5. If everything is OK press JOIN button.
-
- That's it.
-
- ==================================================================================
-
- 6. Splitting Files
-
- If you have a big subtitle file and want to split it into two or more
- smaller files do it like this :
-
- 1. Open the First File.
- 2. Prepare everything as you want to save it.
- 3. Click SPLIT
- 4. A New Window Appears...
- 5. Select where you want to split the data and click Split.
- * or write the time you want to split after into the
- Split After editing box and press Preview to check if it
- is ok. The nearest match will be selected.
- * or click Split After Video Ends, select a video file and
- subtitles will split in the time when the video ends.
- 6. If everything is set click SPLIT
-
- ==================================================================================
-
