  23.      This upgrade program can be used to update the latest PC-DVD
  24.      Encore Dxr3 files/drivers on 
  25.      a. Windows 95
  26.      b. Windows 98
  27.      c. Windows NT 4.0
  28.     
  29. 2.   Procedure to install the PC-DVD Encore Dxr3 upgrade program
  30.      -----------------------------------------------------------

  32.      For details of the installation procedure, please refer to the 
  33.      Readme.1st file.
  34.      
  35.      After running the upgrade program, you must reboot your system 
  36.      for the changes to take effect.

  38. 3.   Features added 
  39.      --------------

  41.      1. Windows NT 4.0 Drivers: Windows NT 4.0 drivers support is 
  42.         added to extend the platform support for PC-DVD Encore Dxr3.
  43.  
  44.         Limitation: 
  45.         If your current package does not contain the Windows NT 4.0
  46.         drivers, and if you have not yet installed your card, then
  47.         you must perform the first installation on a Windows 9x
  48.         platform. If you do not have a Windows 9x platform, you will
  49.         not be able to perform the installation.
  50.         
  51.         Windows NT 4.0 Symmetric Multiple Processing (SMP) is not
  52.         supported in this release.

  54.      2. SB Live! 4 point surround and AC-3 pass-through support
  55.         The 4 point surround speakers support is added to utilize the
  56.         4 point surround speakers if you have Creative Sound Blaster
  57.         Live! installed on your system. Instead of Dolby Digital 5.1
  58.         channel audio output downmixed to stereo surround audio 
  59.         output through two speakers, you get 4-channel audio output 
  60.         from your 4-point speakers setup.
  61.  
  62.         The AC-3 pass-through support is added to eliminate the need
  63.         to switch between SB Live! digital out and PC-DVD Encore Dxr3 
  64.         digital out to the digital input of your external receiver 
  65.         (e.g. Creative Desktop Theater 5.1).

  67.         To enable these options:
  68.  
  69.         1) Click Start -> Programs -> PC-DVD Encore -> PC-DVD Player.
  70.         2) On the PC-DVD Player, click the Configuration Menu button.
  71.            The Configuration dialog box appears with the Audio tabbed
  72.            page displayed.
  73.         3) On the Audio tabbed page, click the Advanced button.
  74.         4) On the Audio Output tabbed page, you can set your audio
  75.            output by selecting either the 4 point surround option 
  76.            button or the AC-3 pass-through option button on the 
  77.            SBLive! group box.

  79.         For the new setting to take effect, you need to relaunch
  80.         the player. These options are available only for Windows
  81.         95 and Windows 98 and only if SB Live! is detected.

  83.      3. Force TV output to PAL-60 format
  84.         This feature lets you have a additional PAL TV format option.

  86. 4.   Bug Fixes

  89.      The following bug fixes have been solved.
  90.      1. Last chapter not playable on some DVD titles.
  91.      2. PAL TV output are offset upwards.
