BIOS MANUFACTURERS
==================
In the box above this text you should be able to see the name of your
BIOS manufacturer, and the BIOS 'core' date. Then check the details below.
The major manufacturers are listed in alphabetical order.
<PAGE>
American Megatrends Inc. (AMIBIOS) (Source http://www.amibios.com)
---------------------------------
"All current versions of AMI BIOS 95, core date 7-15-95, and future
versions of AMIBIOS are year 2000 compliant. All previous OEM versions
of AMIBIOS can be changed only by the system OEM to support the year
2000 feature. This change can be given directly to the system OEM
from American Megatrends.
Year 2000 compliance means that the internal BIOS date and time clock
will continue above the date 1999. It will not reset itself after 1999
to the date of 1900. It will continue to the date of 2099 before
resetting to 1900."
---------------------------------
THEREFORE, IF YOUR AMIBIOS DATE IS EARLIER THAN 15th July 1995,
(7-15-95 is the US date format) FIT A MILLENNIUM BIOS BOARD TO
CORRECT THE PROBLEM.

Award Software International Inc.(AWARD)(Source http://www.award.com)
---------------------------------------------
"If your BIOS was released before 26 April 1994, you only need to reset your
system clock once. Turn the system off before midnight on 31 December 1999.
Turn it back on some time after midnight, on 1 January 2000. Then reset the
system date in Setup.
If your BIOS was released between 26 April 1994 and 31 May 1995,
you need to obtain a BIOS update, or reset your system clock every day!
If your BIOS was released after 31 May 1995, its calendar automatically
rolls from 1999 to 2000 at midnight. You don't need to do any thing."
---------------------------------------------
THEREFORE, IF YOUR BIOS DATE IS BETWEEN 26th APRIL 1994 AND 31st MAY 1995,
YOU CAN FIT A MILLENNIUM BIOS BOARD TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM.

SPECIAL NOTES:
Problems have been reported when testing the AWARD BIOS version 4.50g.
This BIOS appears to have caused AWARD themselves problems given the amount
of documentation and "fixes" on the internet. The MILLENNIUM BIOS BOARD II
contains additional code to overcome this problem.

COMPLIANT AWARD BIOS
The AWARD BIOS releases since 31 May 1995, have their own "fix" inbuilt
by AWARD. However, this version of [7 testing software will "fault"
these "compliant" BIOSs because the "fix" only occurs on boot-up of the PC
after 1st January 2000.
Users who have a server which is permanently on should note that they must
re-boot these machines after midnight on 31st December 1999 for the "fix"
to become operative.

Award lists its "Hardware Partners" who use its BIOS. This means that
the companies listed below produce motherboards and/or complete PCs.
Please note that is is possible that the BIOS of any or all of those
listed below could show up as either their own brand name, or AWARD.

Phoenix Technologies Ltd (Source http://www.phoenix.com)
------------------------
"How can I find out if my computer supports the year 2000?
If your owner's manual doesn't mention this issue, and you can't
call the computer manufacturer for some reason (they are the only
ones who will know for sure), take these steps:
1. Set the time on your computer to three minutes before midnight (23:57:00),
and the date to December 31, 1999.
2. Turn your computer off and wait for five minutes.
3. Turn your computer on, booting from a "system only" floppy disk
(DOS with no config.sys or autoexec.bat files).

Phoenix Technologies Ltd - continued
------------------------------------
If the date prompt displays "2000" as the year, you have nothing to
worry about. If it displays any other year, you have to upgrade your BIOS.
Phoenix corrected this problem in February of 1995, but some of our
customers may be using source code purchased before February 1995. There is
no BIOS version number that guarantees your system will report the proper
date in the year 2000. This problem will surface again in the year 2400."

IF THIS TEST SOFTWARE SHOWS YOU HAVE A PROBLEM, YOU CAN FIT A
MILLENNIUM BIOS BOARD TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM.

If your BIOS does not meet the criteria outlined above,
OR you cannot get a BIOS update,
OR your BIOS is not listed above,
then stop worrying.
[3 will show you what is happening,
and The [1 MILLENNIUM BIOS BOARD will rescue you.
