  35. Please copy this new "MDMZYXLG.INF" (internal rev. 53, 11/16/1996) into your

  37. "\WINDOWS\INF\" directory (which is a hidden (!) directory) and overwrite
  38.  
  39. your old file. Check that there don't exist any "OEMx.INF" (x is a digit)
  40.  
  41. files for the ZyXEL modems. You'll have to look into the "OEMx.INF" by
  42.  
  43. opening it with the NOTEPAD.EXE (or any other ASCII editor). If the "OEMx.INF"
  44.  
  45. starts with the header which lets you assume it is for ZyXEL modems, then
  46.  
  47. please delete this file !
  48.  
  49. Then install your ZyXEL Elite 2864 modem entries once again by using the
  50.  
  51. "modems" wizard in the control panel - the Windows95 registry will be
  52.  
  53. updated automatically.
