  13. build number of the application, the basic specifications of your computer,
  14. and major software packages installed (eg. Plus!, Internet Explorer).  If
  15. the bug is something that occurs while using the program, please describe
  16. exactly what happened in as much detail as you can remember (screen shots
  17. are also very often useful).

  20. ease of use, as well as any other comments you would like to make.

  22. No registration is required, but if you would like to receive notification
  23. of updates, new releases, etc., you can email me to request this.  If you
  24. email me regarding problems or questions, you will automatically be added
  25. to the mailing list for updates, please specifically request not to be added
  26. if you do not wish to be informed of any new developments.

  28. It seems that this program has been uploaded to a few sites on the internet.
  29. I have not been responsible for this and it is virtually impossible for me to
  30. try and keep track of these sites.  The only site on the internet guaranteed
  31. to have the latest version of the program is my own web site.

  35. Installation Instructions:
  36.  
  37. The program is distributed in three forms:
  38.  
  39. * MORE20.ZIP  - Program files only
  40. * MORE20S.ZIP - Small setup (does not include VB run-time libraries)
  41. * MORE20F.ZIP - Full setup (includes VB run-time libraries)
  42.  
  43. If you downloaded one of the setup archives, just run SETUP.EXE to install
  44. the program.  If you downloaded the small setup or the program files only,
  45. please make sure that you already have the VB run-time libraries in your
  46. Windows\System folder.
  47.  
  48. Run-time libraries required:

  50. * COMCTL32.OCX
  51. * MFC40.DLL
  52. * MSVCRT40.DLL
  53. * OLEPRO32.DLL
  54. * VB40032.DLL

  57. If you are missing any files required by the program, they may be downloaded

  62. Known Issues:
  63.  
  64. * On some computers, the Startup settings don't seem to work.  I called
  65.   Microsoft about this problem, and they were unable to help me.  It seems to
  66.   depend on the BIOS (Windows 95 only).
  67. * The TreeView and ListView controls do not respond to system messages.
  68. * Adding Notepad and Quick View context menu items to all files can cause
  69.   duplicate entries on the context menu for some file types.
  70. * Adding Notepad to all files causes it to become the default action for some
  71.   file types.  When this occurs, it also causes the Microsoft Office toolbar
  72.   to open such files using Notepad.
  73. * Selecting the What's This help button and clicking an item will display the
  74.   help for the previously selected item.
  75. * Selecting the Hide Desktop Icons option causes problems with the Internet
  76.   Explorer 4.0 beta in Windows 95.
  77. * The Folder context menu default item list does not refresh if the Explore
  78.   From Here check box state is changed.
  79. * System information incorrectly reports hard disks bigger than 2gb as being
  80.   2gb in Windows 95.

  84. Known Bugs:

  86. * Clicking the Control Panel coolbar button causes an exception in Windows NT
  87.   if Internet Explorer 4.0 is installed.
  88. * Changing the Printer icon does not have any visible effect.
  89. * Changing My Computer, Network Neighborhood, Control Panel and shell folder
  90.   icons in Windows NT has no effect
  91.

  94. Troubleshooting:
  95.  
  96. * Run-time error 31037, "Error loading from file."
  97.  
  98.     If you get this error while loading the application, the most likely
  99.     cause is that there is a problem with COMCTL32.OCX.  To remedy this,
  100.     download a new copy of this file from my home page and use REGSVR32.EXE
  101.     to register it (eg. REGSVR32 C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\COMCTL32.OCX) if
  102.     necessary.  It is also possible that you could get this error if you do
  103.     not have enough memory available to run the program.
  104.  
  105. * Run-time error 367, "Can't load (or register) custom control COMCTL32.OCX."
  106.  
  107.     Please refer to the installations instructions at the beginning of this
  108.     document for the list of required files, and make sure they are all
  109.     in your Windows\System folder.
  110.  
  111. * Cannot find MSVCRT.DLL/MSVCIRT.DLL
  112.  
  113.     MSVCRT.DLL and MSVCIRT.DLL can be downloaded from my web site if you
  114.     require them.  Most people do not need these files.
  115.  
  116. * Unexpected error; quitting
  117.
