- (Requirements for CD-Runner 6.0 DeLuxe may be found below. Feature
- differences between 4.0 and 6.0 are significant, and are noted at the
- end of this document.)
-
- CD-Runner 4.0 Lite (16-bit) is compatible with Windows 3.1, Windows 3.11,
- and may also be run under Windows 95. We recommend the following as a
- nominal environment for using CD-Runner 4.0:

- CD-Runner, as well as current CD-ROM application discs.
-

- CD-Runner 6.0 DeLuxe Requirements
-
- CD-Runner 6.0 DeLuxe (32-bit) is compatible with Windows 95. We recommend
- the following as a nominal environment for using CD-Runner 6.0:
-
- (Note: It is highly recommended that CD-Runner be installed on MMII-class
- [multimedia 2] PCs. This will render both the highest performance of
- CD-Runner, as well as current CD-ROM application discs.
-
- * Pentium class 60 MHz or better IBM-compatible computer. CD-Runner
- may also be run on 486 processors, provided that they are DX-2 and
- 100 MHz or better.
- * Windows Version 95 or later.
- * Mouse.
- * 8 MB RAM or greater. 16 MB or better is recommended for optimal
- multimedia performance.
- * One hard disk drive, one MCI-compatible IDE or SCSI CD-ROM drive.
- * Sound card. Sound-Blaster compatible is recommended.
- * Approximately 5 MB available hard disk space.
- * Windows 95 MCI CD player compatible driver and driver for CD Audio.
- These are automatically installed during Window 95 Setup, but may not
- be resident if you have overinstalled Windows 95 as an upgrade to
- Windows 3.x. This is rare, and if you are able to run audios via the
- Microsoft CD Player, most unlikely.
- * It is HIGHLY recommended that you NOT have mscdex.com loaded in your
- autoexec.bat, but rather let Windows 95 set up your CD-ROM drive(s).
- (Mscdex.com is a DOS driver that can seriously slow down Windows 95
- CD-ROM performance.)
- * Highly Recommended: Modem w/Internet hookup.
