Troubleshooting: Exile is a large, elaborate game, and Windows can occasionally be a delicate operating system. If you're having troubles with Exile crashing, take the following steps. 1. Select Preferences from the Options menu. Select Fewer Sounds. If the game crashes while targeting missiles or combat spells, also select No Targeting Line. 2. Turn the sound off altogether. 3. Don't change the volume on your sound card while playing Exile. 4. If using Windows 95, turn off the disk compression, checking, and maintenance utilities while playing Exile. Exile II will change the colors in the other Windows while it runs - this is an unfortunate side effect of using 256 colors. Exile II has proven to be a very stable and reliable game, in general.
