  170. INSTALLING WINZLE!
  171. ------------------
  172. Installing Winzle! is easy, but the specific process will vary depending
  173. on how you received your copy of Winzle!. Two examples are given below. T

  175. first is for copying from a floppy disk or CD-ROM. The second is for a ZI
  176. P
  177. file downloaded from a bulletin board system (BBS).

  180. From a diskette or CD-ROM:

  182. First, create a directory for the Winzle! files:
  183.  
  184. Using the MS-DOS Prompt  Using File Manager

  186. Type MD\WINZLE   Click on the root directory (C:\)
  187. Press [Enter]   Click on File
  188.     Click on Create Directory
  189.     Type Winzle
  190.     Press [Enter]

  192. Next, copy the Winzle! files to the newly created directory.

  196. C: [ENTER]   Make sure you have two windows visible in File
  197. CD\WINZLE [ENTER]     Manager. If not, click on Window, then
  198. COPY A:\*.* C: [ENTER]     New Window.
  199.     In one window, click on the WINZLE directory
  200. (This is an example of     you just created.
  201. copying from a diskette. In the other window, click on the drive
  202. For a CD-ROM, substitute    and then the directory where the Winzle!
  203. the drive letter and      files are located.
  204. directory of the CD-ROM  Click on the first file in the source direct-
  205. for the A:\)      ory, then press the SHIFT key and while
  206.        holding it down click on the last file in
  207.        the source directory. All files in that
  208.        directory will now be highlighted.
  209.     Click again on any of the highlighted files
  210.        but DO NOT RELEASE THE MOUSE BUTTON. You
  211.        can now "drag" the files to the WINZLE
  212.        directory in the other window by moving
  213.        the mouse cursor to the WINZLE directory.
  214.     Once the mouse cursor is over the WINZLE
  215.        directory, release the mouse button. This
  216.        will copy all the highlighted files to the
  217.        WINZLE directory.

  219. Finally, install the Winzle! icon on your Program Manager display.

  253. For the novice user, it's easiest to "unzip" and install Winzle! from the
  254. MS-DOS prompt (if you are an experienced user, you probably aren't readin

  256. these instructions, anyway, so we're going to ignore you for the time bei
  257. ng).
  258. Please note that un-Zipping a file requires a copy of PKUNZIP.EXE, which 
  259. is
  260. available on virtually all bulletin boards and online services such as Ge
  261. nie
  262. and CompuServe.

  264. First, create a directory for the Winzle! files. At the MS-DOS prompt, ty
  265. pe
  266. "MD\WINZLE" (without the quote marks), and press [Enter]. Next, switch to
  267. this new WINZLE directory by typing "CD\WINZLE" and pressing [Enter].
  268.  
  269. Next, unzip WINZLE.ZIP into the newly created directory. As an example, i
  270. f
  271. the WINZLE.ZIP file is in the directory C:\DOWNLOAD, then type:
  272.  
  273.    PKUNZIP C:\DOWNLOAD\WINZLE.ZIP

  275. Assuming you are in WINZLE directory, all the Winzle! files will be unzip

  277. there (If that's not where you are, no telling where they will end up. Ma

  279. sure you type CD\WINZLE before this step).

  281. (By the way, once you have unzipped Winzle! you can delete the WINZLE.ZIP

  284. Now that the Winzle! files are properly located on your computer, all you
  285. need to do is install the Winzle! icon on your Program Manager display.

  317. ABOUT VBRUN300.DLL
  318. ------------------
  319. All MS Visual Basic 3.0 programs require the use of a library file called
  320. VBRUN300.DLL. This includes Winzle!. Depending on how you received this
  321. copy of Winzle! you may or may not have received VBRUN300.DLL.
  322.  
  323. If you DID receive VBRUN300.DLL with Winzle!:
  324. ---------------------------------------------
  325. You may not need it. Check your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory to see if a copy
  326. is already there. If so, then you can delete the copy that came with Winz
  327. le!.
  328. If not, you need VBRUN300.DLL either in that directory or in the WINZLE
  329. directory. We recommend that you place it in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory
  330. so that all programs can share it, thus meaning you only need one copy on
  331. your computer.
  332.  
  333. If you DID NOT receive VBRUN300.DLL with Winzle!:
  334. -------------------------------------------------
  335. You may not need it. Check your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory to see if a copy
  336. is already there. If so, then you are set -- you don't need another copy.
  337. On the other hand, if there is NOT a copy already on your system then
  338. you need to get a copy (by the way, we apologize for not including it, bu
  339. t
  340. most BBS's and information services prefer that we don't. Otherwise,
  341. there would be thousands of duplicate copies of this file included with
  342. other programs, taking up disk space better used for other things). Like
  343. PKUNZIP, copies are available free on most BBS's and information services
  344. like CompuServe and Genie. If you got Winzle! off a CD-ROM, there is prob
  345. ably
  346. a copy available somewhere on that CD.

  351. Shareware is a means of distributing software. Under the shareware concep
