  6. Not only does FileWrangler ZIP and UNZIP
  7. files, it can handle all of your other file
  8. management tasks as well. It copies, moves,
  9. renames, deletes, etc. Its ZIP component
  10. allows you to span disks, view zip content,
  11. make self-extracting EXE's, add passwords,
  12. drag and drop to and from zip folders, etc.
  13. Integrated text and html editors, backup,
  14. file security, viewer, paint program, patch
  15. maker, file splitter, backup, more. v3.2

  18. PROGRAM LONG DESCRIPTION:
  19. Not only does FileWrangler ZIP and UNZIP
  20. files, it can handle all of your other file
  21. management tasks as well. It copies, moves,
  22. renames, deletes, etc. FileWrangler lets
  23. you view the contents of files while you
  24. browse through the folders on your system.
  25. It can view many image formats, play AVI's
  26. and WAV's, view text or even hexadecimal.
  27. On-board text editing is ideal for composing
  28. notes, creating html, or editing system
  29. configuration files.

  31. FileWrangler's ZIP features make archiving
  32. files as easy as dragging and dropping files
  33. to and from file folders. Plus, you can also
  34. view zip contents, span zipped files across
  35. multiple disks, make self-extracting EXE zips,
  36. require passwords to unzip, etc.

  38. FileWrangler also gives you security
  39. options to hide file types, folders and
  40. drives from file manager users, as well as
  41. to prevent access to various file management
  42. functions. There are also options to Wipe
  43. files on delete, encrypt/decrypt files, etc.

  45. Other features include: a paint program for
  46. creating or editing images, a backup function
  47. to allow you to easily maintain copies of
  48. important files, a file splitter which allows
  49. you to break large files or groups of files
  50. to fit onto multiple disks (may also be used
  51. to create installation-type programs), a patch
  52. file maker, an FTP client to allow you to
  53. upload or download files to internet sites, and
  54. many more enhancements.

  56. FileWrangler allows you to open several file
  57. lists at once, and you can view files in
  58. either tree view or list view modes. The
  59. interface may also be configured to sport
  60. document file drawers, which allow you to
  61. only view file types that you actually need
  62. to see.

  76. INSTALLING FileWrangler
  77. ------------------------------

  79. Before you can begin using FileWrangler you must run its
  80. Setup program from Windows. In most cases you cannot simply copy
  81. the software onto your hard drive. The files on the CursorArts
  82. distribution disks are stored in a special compressed form to
  83. save space. The Setup program is the only way to insure that
  84. FileWrangler is properly unpacked and installed. To install
  85. FileWrangler, follow the steps below:
  86.  
  87. 1.  Start Windows.
  88.  
  89. 2.  If you received FileWrangler on diskette, place it into
  90.     the floppy drive now. If you downloaded FileWrangler in
  91.     archived format, use PKUNZIP to uncompress the files to a
  92.     working directory on your hard disk.
  93.  
  94. 3.  Activate the Windows Program Manager or Explorer.
  95.  
  96. 4.  Select "Run..." from the "Start" menu.
  97.  
  98. 5.  In the "Command Line" field enter one of the following:
  99.  
  100.       -  If you placed the FileWrangler diskette into drive
  101.          A:, type: A:\SETUP
  102.  
  103.       -  If you placed the FileWrangler diskette into drive
  104.          B:, type: B:\SETUP
  105.  
  106.       -  If you downloaded FileWrangler, type:
  107.          C:\DIRNAME\SETUP (Remember to replace DIRNAME with the name
  108.          of the directory where you uncompressed FileWrangler's files.)

  110. 6.  Follow the instructions on the screen.

  114. UNINSTALLING / REMOVING FROM YOUR SYSTEM
  115. ----------------------------------------
  116. If you decide that you no longer wish to use FileWrangler, or if you
  117. decide not to use FileWrangler beyond the 30-day evaluation period,
  118. you need only to use the UNINSTAL.EXE program placed in FileWrangler's
  119. directory folder to remove its files from your system (or use the
  120. Windows 95 ADD/REMOVE feature of its Control Panel).
  121.  
  122. To remove any shortcuts to FileWrangler which you may have placed on
  123. your Windows desktop, simply delete these by highlighting the link
  124. icon and pressing your Delete key. To remove shortcuts on the
  125. Windows Start menu, use your file manager to delete the FILEWRANGLER
  126. directory folder which is normally located inside the
  127. \WINDOWS\START MENU\PROGRAMS folder.
